In short: Poor value for money, Hard race but Good marshalling and support In full: This has the potential to be an awesome race, but is let down by numerous problems: Poor traffic marshalling - Entry and exit to the park was very congested. The pens at the start for your predicted race time were far too small (I’m sure that about 2000 runners were in the 1.30 - 1.45 pen!!). Fences along the start meant that overtaking was not an option. No goody bag, only a medal and a bottle of Lucozade for the entry fee. Strange to start a race at 1pm in the mid day sun! Luckily it did not rain as parking thousands of cars on grass field would have been interesting!!
Good points - Excellent baggage area, marshalling and support by the cadets. All very supportive, polite and generally pleased to help.
Course is savage! - despite being easier than 2 years ago it was very hilly with the longest finish you can imagine. Was it me or did other runners believe that the finish line was wheels and that someone was pushing it away!! Date of review: September 23, 2008

In short: 2008! Race was great, support amazing. Let down by arrangements for leaving after the race - sat in the car going nowhere and getting stiff for over an hour as the parking attendants stood around. Would not recommend unless travelling by train. Date of review: September 23, 2008

In short: 2008!! Fantastic location, organisation good.Superb crowds - amazing support. Best I've seen in any Half Marathon yet. Watch out for the hills,"undulating" is the biggest understatements ever - there isn't many flat bits on the whole course !!e Date of review: September 23, 2008

In short: Why no 2008 race on RW?? In full: Why is the 2008 race not on RW? Why did we only get £5 from last year's cancelled race? Why no goodie bag today, not even a Mars bar (they were a sponsor!)? And why the strange tinkering with the course? My Garmin measured 13.3 miles today. Anyone else?
That said, it is a great location and a challenging course, and I will run it every year.
Oh, and the web-site! Some of the pages have not been updated for years. Date of review: September 21, 2008

In short: What a rip off, it's no wonder that the 2008 race is not on here. In full: A rip off, why? Because the organisors of the 2007 race kept the entire entrance fee and only offered £5 off if you entered in 2008. If they had put the 2008 race on RW you can imagine what the reviews would have been like. Forget the Windsor Half and run a HM race organised by a running club not money grabbing moraless business men. Date of review: September 15, 2008

In short: The Least the organisers could do is allow Free/Automatic Entry to Next Year's Event! In full: I was really looking forward to running this race and am gutted that it cannot go ahead due to Foot & Mouth. I understand the reasons why it had to be cancelled! The least the organisers could do is allow Free / Automatic entry to next year's Event. They have said we will receive a discount, but no mention what that might be? Really feel organisers could of done better! SORRY! Date of review: October 17, 2007
