In short: Thank You to all that helped
In full: Great first half marathon, Thanks to everyone who asked after my wellfare when they passed me after 10 miles. I was suffering with tendonitis and got over the finish line in what must have looked like a painful hobble. I could only have done this with the support of the runners and crowd. The goody bags were fab the Yorkies where just the job. Fantastic race would recommend to everyone..

In short: Fast, Popular Race
In full: Very well organised and popular race. If you want a PB you can certainly get one here!
Only gripe was that it took ages to get the presentations done at the end and there were one or two car parking problems - not really the fault of the organisers though!

In short: Another great Brass Monkey
In full: PB despite not being quite at my best. Almost faultless event, organisation and course great again. Well marshalled for such a long race and the atmosphere amongst runners and spectators is as good as I've known. Sweatshirt is good value for a memento and very comfy too.

In short: like fine wine this race improves year on year thanks to excellent organisation and enthusiastic support
In full: It's January, it's cold with an icy wind coming off the moors, but there is 13.1 miles of flat, fast tarmac ahead, a warm welcome back, excellent pre and post race facilites for runners and supporters alike and a welcoming mix of all abilities.

What more could one want!!!

In short: Seems to get quicker
In full: As well organised as ever, and benefiting from the facilities of the racecourse stands - changing, toilets, cafe etc - the Brass Monkey's main selling point has to be the flat terrain and PB potential. You're never going to get a picturesque pancake flat race, but the monkey is at least 99% rural and uncrowded, if a little dull. The hospitality is always spot on and it fits nicely between big city events and obscure local races. I prefer the latter and this race is near enough for my liking. Best be quick next september, though, 'cos it sold out in 2 days this time.

In short: It was my first time doing this race and I really really enjoyed it. Can't understand in this day and age though why the results are no where to be seen unless I'm looking in the wrong place!
