In short: 2007 Much better 2nd time around. In full: Did this last year (2006)(the 1/2)) nearly put my light out! This year (2007) I've discovered fell running & what a difference. Cruised the first big hill at Chapel Style, eased the down hill part, dug in for the ups & walked the big hill at the end, fast walking is as quick as running & keeps the energy up for the tricky bit at the top & the long, long finish straight. Smashed last years time & also an early season flat 1/2. Nearly got my 1/2 PB. Amazing. If you are going to do this I would strongly reccommend hill running but a fell run once a week is great for the spirit & the time. Date of review: December 11, 2007

In short: Tough race - great scenery, back next year! In full: Fantastic atmosphere - and wonderful location. I imagine the weather can really make or break this race.....blazing sunshine made it tougher, but the views...oh the views!

In short: Brutal, but great In full: This is a brutal race. It took me 1 hour longer than my previous best. I have never had more painful legs. The effort it took to simply walk up the hills on the second lap was immense. I have never had so much cramp. But do not let this put you off. This is a fantastic race - the antithesis of FLM, and is wonderfully organised by the inimitable Rod erry. DO IT. Date of review: September 5, 2005

In short: Fantastic run, great scenery, far too hot for it yesterday though, wilted in the heat! In full: Much preferred the start at New Dungeon, allowed for a great warm-up before the hill leading up to the YHA and also meant there wasn't a long, hard slog back along the flat at the end. Fantastic but tough half - thanks for all who organised! Date of review: September 5, 2005

In short: Absolutley fantastic race, very tough due to the amount of climbing and heat. Couldn't fault the organisation, carried my own drink which I'd recommened to anyone in the future despite there being enough water stations, as the climbs make you very th Date of review: September 4, 2005
