In short: apart from the rain was enjoying the whole event until got to the finish and received goody bag. Rubbishy memento and a bag of sweets. All my friend got was two bags of sweets. Was disappointed to say the least

In short: A nice and hilly challenging 10k
In full: A great race. Very well organised and especially well done to the marshalls out in the cold and rain! The hill start and small but frequent hills along the way were very challenging. The last time I felt that tired after a race was a marathon! Good chip timing. The only small minus was a suitably credit crunch style disappointing goody bag! But I will be back next year. Well done.

In short: Still one of my favourite 10Ks
In full: My third Standalone 10K and the organisation remains tops, especially now with the chip-timing which is a godsend seeing as it took me almost a minute to cross the start line.
The marshalls, as in previous years, were brilliant and very supportive.
Ignoring the appalling weather conditions, there was one downside ... the goody bag/souvenir. In past years I've received a very good quality t-shirt and woolly beanie hat which have been very useful. I arrived ome on Sunday and tipped out the contents of my goody bag (or was it supposed to be a shoe-bag?) to find half a tree, a small bag of Haribo chews and a bag of dried fruit. I did feel a bit robbed after my effort, however, given the choice of chip-timing or a decent souvenir I think I'd rather the chip-timing, but how about a muesli bar and carton of juice instead of the sweets!

In short: Good race, good marshalls, terrible weather!!
In full: Well done to the marsahlls who braved the elements and still managed to be encouraging. My husband's goody bag had drink, 2 packets of sweets, key ring, dried fruit and pen. My goody bag was not so goody with just one packet of sweets! Is that to make me try harder and finish nearer the front next time?!
