In short: Bit dull and a bit too many tight bends!

In short: Fast Season Opener
In full: Everyone and his dog were there to get their PB's (if they'd started their training soon enough). 3Km out along a road, a loop round a housing estate, a loop round an industrial estate, then 3km straight home. Just focus on the time, theres no point looking at anything else!

Good glass tumbler memento to commemorate 25 years of the Totton 10K.

In short: One of the best organised races Ive been to. Secure bag storage a great bonus, as I was on my own at this race. Engraved glass at the end was a nice touch too. Results came out pretty quick too. So well done organisers!!

In short: Fast Race on a Flat Course
In full: The race is a PB magnet, took more than 2 mins off mine this year. However the course is dull and the HQ is getting shabbier every year, pity the poor kids who get taught at the school. The organisation is fine and tea and cakes are welcome. The momento is nice given the low entry fee. I'll be back for another PB next year.

In short: Effortlessly organised flat, fast 10k
In full: I participated in this race last year one week prior to running the paris marathon and posted 36 36. I went on to run a 2 54 and so felt extremely happy. Again I'm running Paris in 7 days and wanted to gauge myself against the time I set on this fast, flat course. Well it may not have been as hot as last year but 34.58 has got me dreaming of some silly time in France. It helps that when running this race you have a very quick, flat start, frequent accurately measured distance markers and a VERY helpful halfway clock. The gentle uphill at 3 and a half k is nice and early in the race and then you have a gentle but prolonged downhill section where u can really pick your pace up. Even though its not the most scenic of runs I love this course. You have plenty of spectators/encouragement, its well marshalled and is a great pre marathon 10k (which I think is reflected in the large number of entries from clubs all over the south east).
Only small gripe is there could be more toilets, but nevertheless a big thumbs up!!!
