In short: Two races in one
In full: First lap flat against the tram - don't go off too quick as second into the glorious countryside great views but undulating course (hills!!)
Different from your normal 10k-ers with a pass round the scenic & interesting Beamish Museum - if not rushing away after the race?

In short: What happened to the weather?
In full: I got absolutely soaked, I was slower than last year, my legs ached and the hills got steeper. I know I'm older but hey I'm supposed to be fitter! I had a great time despite the weather, I'll be back nest year work permitting

In short: Extremely enjoyable multi-terrain race, seemed to be more uphills than downhills. Very encouraging support from all of the marshals. Most runners seemed to be in high spirits despite the constant drizzle. Definetly recommended and will do it again

In short: A good challenge
In full: The weather played a major part yesterday, with rain throuhout the running of the whole course. It really is a multi-terrain course so dont come expecting nice roads!! The distance markers were strange to say the least. A mile marker at the 2 & 3 point and that was it. Please can you mark it out in Km next year.

In short: Hard, muddy race with tough hills..... totally enjoyed it!!!!
In full: Slightly longer than 10k. First 3 miles were a good warm up for what was to come!! Marshalls were friendly and pointed us in the right direction. A tough race for a 10k but good intro into xcountry running. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone (even my 62 year old mum did it in 1 hour!!).

In short: A race of two halves (Approx. 3 miles road + 3 miles over the country)
In full: Changes in course from last year made the off road section much harder. Overnight rain and a MTBs chewed up the trails into thick mud in places plus some unforgiving hills made this a particularly challenging 10k.

Thoroughly recommended as an introduction to off road racing

It was like two separate races, I needed a transition at 3 miles to change my shoes :>}

In short: Very tough, but good fun
In full: Very well organised, some distance markers would have been good. Marshalls friendly, very hard work with the muddy hills, but a great run.
