In short: Flat and Fun?
In full: I sort of enjoyed this race, more so than the Hilly Brands Hatch event a few weeks ago.Good atmoshpere and loads of encouragement from the marshals.
First time I've ever tried to follow one of the Runners World Pacers.8 minute Mile Girl did a fantastic job of getting to the 3 Mile point in 24 minutes.1st Mile in 9:30 due to the crowds ( loads of runners in her slipstream).2nd Mile in 7:30 ,to make up for lost time (decidedly fewer people behind her).3rd Mile in 7 minutes.........Erm.......dunno what happened after that because I wasn't there anymore.lol

In short: Good one to get going in the year
In full: Good organisation, quite a big number of runners. The course is a bit dull (twice up the road and back, dead straight) but very good to run, you can really let it out here. Steady cold northerly wind, but it is like this most of the time during winter here and it gives you a good push home on the last 3 miles.

Wouldn`t call it a spectacular race, but it suits the purpose and is a good way of checking your winter training.

In short: Blackpool tower, the sea and a medal - what more could a runner want?
In full: This was my first half-marathon and I wasn't disappointed. Despite the strong wind the view along the sea front made this a very pleasant run indeed. A fast course and a worthwhile build-up race for the FLM. You get a medal as well.

In short: Great race to get a PB
In full: A well organised race, first lap was good, second lap a bit windy. Not sure about the distance marker at mile 6! A few mile markers missing also. Sliced 7 mins off my PB!

In short: windy. experience ruined by theft from bag area.
In full: never really enjoy having to do 2 laps, but on the day, it was not too bad. the course was flat on the whole and only made difficult by the strong winds. Water stations were adequate and jelly babies very welcome. the race was spoiled by the fact that the marshallin charge of the "manned" bag station had disappeared long before I finised and Bag containing 2 of mine and 2 of a fellow runners jackets had been stolen. It was freezing cold and we are now in the process of trying to get some recompense for the loss of our property by the organisers.I really feel that there should be better care taken of runners property.

In short: Bad wind!!
In full: Got a pb but could have gone even quicker had it not been for the wind on the out part of the two lap course but certainly would be back as was well organised and a good training run

In short: enjoyable race
In full: . . . made slightly more challenging by the rather windy conditions along the lower sea wall - by the second lap you're looking for groups of runners to hide behind!
Friendly atmosphere, encouraging marshalls and jelly babies on lap 2!!

In short: Hard work into the wind!
In full: Lovely views, encouraging marshalls, but a hard slog into the wind - and any chance of water bottles next time?
