In short: Only my 2nd Half Marathon, but well worth the trip. Good race if you are preparing for theFlm, as I am. A wide range of different age groups/standards. Very welcoming and not intimidating as some smaller races can be for runners just starting off.
In full: Wide starting area, which made it a very comfortable start and passage throughout tthe race. Plenty of room to pass, and a very trelaxing. A two lap course-however was enjoyable, and did not get bored. Organisation was excellent, innformative, and the race went off on time!unlike some races I have been involved in. The entrance fee (£16). Although to some it might of been steep, it was well worth the admission as it was going to the Rosemere appeal. Other race directors shoud take note!An enjoyable experience/day. Well done to Ron and all his team.My first race in BlackpooL,and one to enter in future diaries.

In short: First haf marathon - very enjoyable
In full: Good run - nice course but dififcult to frink out of plastic cups. Licky with weather - wind not as bad as expected looking at previous years comments. Will definitely do it again

In short: Very flat route which is technically 'off-road' but is not closed to the public. Rather monotonous beach scenery - which you see twice.
In full: The route is out and back along coastal promenade which, considering the size of the field, is quite narrow in places leading to congestion on the first lap. You also have to contend with walkers and cyclists along the route. Water was available as advertised in plastic cups and signage along the route was good. If you're looking for a flat race to get a PB you will probably be thwarted by the congestion, unless you're at the front. Otherwise a good training run amongst pleasant company in fresh sea air.

In short: Good little season starter and for checking how things are going on the build up to bigger things.
In full: First race of the new year and slap bang in the middle of the 16 week marathon schedule: MADRID, not London but same day. A race is always good the check how things are going. Near a PB but was expecting slightly better however it took about 10-15 mins to clear the start and work through slower runners who had clogged the first ranks of bodies at the start line. Still, enjoyable, and always plenty of folks around to help push on.
