In short: Great organisation, definite pb potential
In full: This is my club's race but I had very little involvement in the organisation (apart from banking the cheques!) and was really impressed with how smoothly it went on the day. From a runner's perspective, pretty much flawless. And I quite enjoyed the scenery too - airfield yes, but surrounded by fields, making it oddly atmospheric. I didn't get my hoped-for pb, but I'd put that down to having raced on the Thursday evening rather than any fault with the course! The lack of T-shirt/medal/momento was a deliberate decision as they're quite pricey, and we wanted to maximise the amount raised for charity. It looks like we'll have raised over £1,500, possibly close to £2,000, for Oxsrad, Oxford's disability sports centre, so many thanks to everybody who supported the race - 2008 was definitely our most successful yet.

In short: A lovely 10k.
In full: A really nice route on quiet country roads and an airfield. All the marshalls were helpful and encouraging and I managed a PB (no windy bits this year!) even though this was my first race for a year and a half. Lovely tea and cake at the end - shame about the weather. Thanks Headington Road Runners!

In short: Enjoyable race, friendly host club members.
In full: Headington didn't have a record of my online booking, even though I did get confinmation of my booking from RW.
They did however allow me to race without paying a second time.
Very helpful and friendly.

In short: Fast and flat
In full: Second go on this course so knew roughly what to expect. Fast and flat giving good PB potential. Didn't have time to notice the scenery. Could have done with more toilets which could have been sited on the otherside so you didn't have to cross the traffic entering the site a minor gripe in what was otherwise a good event. Still got my chocs!

In short: Fast & flat & fun
In full: Can't be objective about this one as it is our club 10K and i was marshalling and running so it is nice to get good feedback on the friendly marshalling and good that most of the negative feedback was concerning things we couldn't control-weather and scenary...

In short: well organised and flat
In full: The organisation was excellent. Just a few more toilets for a 400 field would be good and a drink station earlier than 6K (perhaps have two). The 180 loop after 1.5K was a little unimaginative but everything else was really very well done. Superb marshals all the way round. Well done!

In short: Second ever 10K and the best so far. Friendly for beginners and it was nice not to be tripping over people walking. Nice and flat with not bad scenery - I was expecting worse having read the comments on this site. Good parking. Next time I'll bri

In short: Being a lover of fast flat courses, there's not much I could say against this one.
In full: Didn't get a PB but the course has a great 800m straight finish, which I enjoyed belting down. The stretches outside the airfield, were on quiet roads. Couldn't ask for more. Well organised with a drinks station at HW, and with kilometer markers in the right places.

My kids loved the fun run, but that was possibly because it was just 1k long. Far too short for them. Get them to suffer and make them run at least 2k.

In short: Well run but boring circuit with too many long straight slightly uphill bits!
In full: Many thanks to the organisers and cheerful marshalls for putting on a well organised event. The miserable weather dampened my spirits a bit, and the lack of interesting scenery on the course didn't help. I'm sure the airfield setting was great for those going for quick times, but the long straight sections dragged on for me, making the run quite mentally difficult. I won't be doing this one again because once around that airfield was enough for me! I wouldn't put anyone else off though if they are looking for a well-organised event. It's just not scenic!
