In short: fun festive race
In full: Great for beginners to run off-road and a lovely cup of mulled wine and free massage afterwards. Start was a bit shambolic - lots of supporters milling around amongst the runners. This was my sister's first ever 10k and she loved it.

In short: Organisation was a bit of a shambles. Start and finish not obvious. People milling around enroute with runners still running. Prize giving was a fiasco. Nobody left by the time 5km prizes were given out (wrongly), and 10km (wrongly).
In full: A real shame because the potential is great. A beautiful setting, and abviously popular with the number of entrants, but unfortunately a shambles. Most disappointing bit was prize giving. It took forever and virtually every winner was incorrectly identified, including some 'gender bending'. Nobody left to see the kids' moments of glory

In short: Much better than thw last time I did it in 2002.
In full: Much better organisation though with the size of the entry they should consider a longer run to the pinch point behind the big house. The hill is tough first time around and the thought of the second ascent hangs over you all the way around the first lap. But, once that's out of the way, it's plain sailing with a nice downhill finish. Well marshalled and a very friendly atmosphere, a good introduction for people seeking a first off road experience.

In short: Great to run without icy winds this year. No distance markers, but great atmosphere
