In short: This was my 3rd time, and I really enjoyed it. The only gripe as always was the start - a bit chaotic and takes ages to cross the start line if you're not there at the crack of dawn. Nice course, good uplifting crowds, well-organised Date of review: April 21, 2012
In short: Would be a great race with timing pens In full: This is essentially a great race, scenic and varied route, great support, challenging but still pb potential, the start however is shambolic.
The lack of timing pens means that you have 2.30 finishers right at the front just because they turned up early. The starting pen is so narrow it stretches back for miles and just ends up a free for all with everyone climbing over barriers.
If they sort this out this race could become a classic! Date of review: April 9, 2011
In short: Beautiful day, good race a few minor niggles, if sorted could be fantastic In full: Course got better as we ran through the parks and then on to the front. As everyone else has said organisation could have been better at the start. Shouting 'don't jump the barriers, join the queue by the Tax office' over a tannoy, really wasn't helpful to us out of towners. Suport good along the way, except from my support team who were enjoying coffee in Liverpool 1 as I crossed the finish line. Well at least I came in quicker than expected, I was really chuffed with my time and would do it again:) Date of review: April 7, 2011
In short: Great race again this year. Most of the complaints on here are due to the runner and not the race or organisation. Get there in plenty of time, stand in the right area and run. Simples. I will always run this race it is the best of the year. Date of review: April 7, 2011
