In short: Too many too big hills and bottle necks so pacing was impossible.
In full: Lovely scenery but coming to a halt through bottlenecks, including the last leg to the finish, and through facing hills that were so steep everyone walked meant that the pace and continuity of the race were spoiled. The same organiser arranged the Rough N Tumble 10 earlier in the year in the same area and that was much more rewarding and although tough didn't suffer from the above problems.

In short: Not as difficult as is made out to be but still challenging.
In full: A great event very well organised with interesting terrain. After everyone going on about the legendary river crossing I was expecting a bit more than ankle deep water. The strat is tricy as the canal path is narrow and almost impossible to pass slower runners which is frustrating. Although it's not a course for pb's you might want to better last year's time, so starts ordered by potential finishing time would be better. Overall though, brill!

In short: very hard but worth the effort
In full: A narrow track along the canal made for some careful running. Exelent organisation and well marshalled considering the freezing weather. plenty of water stops, good atmosphere and very hard steep hills. Would definately do it again.

In short: Brilliant race
In full: Had a fantastic time. Marshalls were great - smiling and cheerful even when they must have been standing in the freezing wind on top of the Downs for hours. Everyone friendly and supportive. As just about everyone else has said - I'll be back next year.

In short: Stagger the start, or we'll fall in the canal!
In full: great fun for big kids. maybe go in two lots, some of us waited for ages, others arrived 'late', or set off in timed zonesnext year, please.

In short: Loved it - great race, great marshalls, great organisation
In full: I enjoyed this race a lot - do people really enter a race like this to get a PB, surely its all about the countryside, challenge and taking part? What date is the next - is there any chance of maybe one more hill??

In short: Not nearly as hard as it was made out to be, but runners should be grouped by speed at the start as it is hard to pass slower runners for the first few miles
