In short: Perfect post Christmas event for all abilities
In full: A superb run around Aylesbury including an historic market square. Very pleasant and potentially fast. Hard to see how it might be improved beyond a more defined finish line.

In short: It's my hometown...
In full: On a personal level I loved this race.. I ran past the two estate agents I bought my second and third houses from and the florist that did my wedding flowers and various other 'landmarks' of my hometown. My husband and daughter could easily support me and I beat a BBC news reporter.. but the person moanign about ipods? It's a boxing day race, I hardly think of of us trained for it specifically.. so calm down!!! A small medal or something little at the end would have been good and where was the finish?? I had to ask my husband where it was. Still I won't bash the race as I enjoyed it and will do it again when we're Christmasing at home and not at the in-laws. It did feel a bit clubby cliquey though which wasn't too welcoming. But... thank you to all the gave up their bank holiday to set it up and organised. I enjoyed myself, I hope the fast line elite runner did too.

In short: A great race, well organised and brilliant for this time of the year.
In full: A better marker at the finish would be nice. A challenging climb which you get to do 3 times soon sorts out the over keen. Only issue this year IPODS. I hate to mention them but in a 3 lap twisty 5km it can be very frustrating trying to get past people who swerve and don't here you asking for the fast line.
See you next year :¬)

In short: It's become an annual tradition...
In full: ...eat lots on Christmas day, turn up at the startline 2kgs heavier than normal and run as hard as you can until you feel ill...!

Enjoyed this race again this year. Course isn't the quickest as it's got more than its fair share of undulations and twists. People do go off incredibly fast (the nature of a race that attracts a lot of junior runners) and you do have to keep your wits about you at the start, but the race is excellent. Incredibly high standard at the front (first 16 under 17 minutes and first 25 under 18 minutes) but plenty of runners running >30 minutes making it very accessible to all.

No goody bag, but good prizes (thank you for vouchers instead of wine!) and numerous spot prizes. When a race is this cheap you're only too pleased not to get a momento.

Ambiguous finish line may be an issue for those who haven't run it before, and we always measure this course long every year (between 3.16 and 3.19 miles - which equates to ~20 secs over 5k).

Fab race though, and we'll be back again next year :o)

In short: Multiple laps - good mix of abilities
In full: Good date for the race, but the organisation needs some work for next year. Unclear start and finish, I finished 15 metres from the actual finish line! Clearer instructions at plus a larger map of the route at the start would be really helpful for next year.

In short: Multiple laps, lots of serious runners,
In full: Registration was quick and easy and the organiser was polite and friendly on the telephone. The race was a good opportunity to burn off the Christmas dinner but not the best I have attended. It was not clear where the finish was and some runners carried on running when they had actually finished. People were verybunched up at the start and my friend was knocked over by people pushing. Lots of uneven surfaces to run on with cobbles in the market square and lots of pavements to go up and down. Several metal poles to dodge along the route. Multiple laps didn't make it the most exciting of routes. Fairly flat apart from one very steep incline which we went up 3 times. No medal, t-shirt or goody bag etc. just a cup of water at the end. There was also a children's race which was good to see. We supported this race as it was local. Thanks to the volunteers who gave up their time on Boxing Day.

In short: Nice Little Boxing day burn to re awaken the legs after Christmas
In full: Good little race that is both low key and a good standard at the front! My sub 18mins pace probably didn't even get me into the top 20! A little 100metre or so climb on each of 3 laps meant that a bit of time is no doubt added to your time from a flat 5k...but all in all a nice little race.

Only problem with a 5k is 30mins later you are feeling so fine it's as if you've not run!!
Worked well with the Bell pub providing head quarters and a safe place to leave bags.
