In short: Well organised and friendly
In full: This is my local race and therefore ideal preparation for the FLM. Unfortunately I didn't feel too well on the day and had to drop out after about 12 miles - the nearest point to home. But many thanks to the friendly Marshalls and other runners for checking that I was OK.

In short: Seemed so much more polished than two years ago
In full: Having bad memories about this race from two years back, I didn't really want to do it again, but having no other suitable race, I finished up pleasantly surprised to see how well organised it was. The mile markers were accurate, drinks stations excellent, and the marshalling was superb. I even liked the medal.
I'm not in love with the course, but it isn't easy staging a race in suburban London. A credit to Hillingdon AC.

In short: A good workout - mentally and physically
In full: For me this was a good work out for the FLM. I liked the laps - except for the last one and it was a good exercise in mind over matter - particularly as the fast runners started overlapping me at the end of my third lap - this made the start of the fourth lap into the wind rather a challenge. I really liked the Soviet era medal thing as well.

In short: Good pre London time trial
In full: Had been told to expect a tough race by club members who had run it before but found it to be reasonable. Yes, there were a few hills but there were also downhill sections that were very easy. Doing laps meant you quickly got to know what to expect and allowed me to monitor my pace accordingly.

In short: Great run
In full: Brilliant race : good for setting a pace and holding it - surely you can't call it hilly ? Stylish medal, liked the goody bag, results out quickly. Slightly different route an improvement. Shame about the cars - there seem to be more about at 9:30 than there were when it was at 1:30. Mother's day shopping stampede ?

In short: A good training run for a April Marathon. 4 laps of 5 miles - Hilly (particularly mile 2). Start was a bit chaotic. Friendly organisers
