In short: Fantastic! Imagine tough and you're still nowhere near it!
In full: Organisation is amazing. These guys organise a 30k course better than most race organiser manage to deal with a 10k.
The course is very demanding, the weather was hot and this was the longest event I'd ever attempted. However, the event was great, fantastic organisation, great scenery, great friendly spirit of entrants and plenty of support from marshals and spectators make this event one of the very best. The sense of achievement on completing it has to be experienced to be truly understood.

In short: Cult run status
In full: Very nice scenic course providing mix of surfaces, terrain and a couple of good hills. Challenging but well worth it. If you've done it once you will be back....

In short: Excellent race, a good choice at all the water stations, and a plentiful supply of my favourite jelly babies. Great scenery. Very well supervised.
In full: I'd like to say thankyou to everyone who helped, in particular the policeman at the Leather Bottle who had a couple of ignorant motorists to deal with.

In short: One not to miss!
In full: I have run the NDR most years since 1985 and it just seems to get better. This is the event where the organisers have thought of everything - great attention to detail with the course waymarking and even orange paint highlighting of protruding roots, stones etc on the shaded woodland paths - particularly appreciated by ‘marathon shufflers’ like me!
Bringing the event forward two weeks this year made the Kentish floral scenery throughout the tough course even more vivid with some fields appearing as white as fresh snow, and of course the myriad poppies.
Friendly support, plenty of drinks and jelly babies from the many marshals – what more could one ask for?! – a great event every year. Thankyou. Geoff Hickmer.

In short: This has to be one of the best races anywhere - if there is a better one, please tell me!
In full: It is a race with everything – stunning scenery with all the best of the North Downs, fields full of poppies and daisies, steep hills, lovely woodland, delightful churches, villages and pubs; a very challenging course with strength sapping climbs and scary descents; awesome organisation – an amazing attention to detail, brilliant marshals, plenty of water stations, every potential hazard marked with tape or paint, a good T shirt, free cakes and bananas at the finish as well as a free swim, all for just £12!
It’s a race to savour, rather than to chase quick times, enjoy the camaraderie of fellow runners in a way you just don’t get elsewhere, but treat it with respect and make sure you have enough energy left for the small(er) but testing hills at the end and you will be rewarded with one of the best race experiences anywhere. Well done Istead & Ifield. My only regret is that I didn’t ‘discover’ the race earlier – I can’t wait for next year.
