In short: The race is as good as the weather and the poppies leave a red glow
In full: Organisation as good as ever and finally the word is out with no on the day entries left. The course shows off the Kent country side, the poppies take your breath away, and my least favourite crossing of the orchard was routed differently to avoid the ridges. Aid stations were better stocked with water, jelly babies, sports drink and SIS gels, and the marshals were so helpful that I tried harder than my lace of running (cycling only) preparation told me I ought to. My fifth consecutive NDR30 - I will be back next year

In short: Thoroughly enjoyable but hard as nails...
In full: Someone should have told me that cross country could be so much harder than a marathon! I've run 4 marathons so far including a difficult trail marathon, and this was by far the hardest race. Yet it was beautiful, magnificent really. Full of lovely, supportive fellow runners and marshalls, generous supply of sweets, biscuits, water, sports drinks and beer (!!!!) at water stations. Help, enthusiastic children (surely future running stars soon...). Very heartwarming experience, with a cake stall at the finish that offered free cake for all. The kind of race that would restore your faith in the human race, but it was physically taxing. I found it hard, but yes, definitely do it again. Much thanks to my friend who recommended it and ran with me on the day (though she was about 30 minutes faster than I). Marijana, I thank you very much for this, I do not hate you for dragging me into this at all :-)

In short: The ultimate must do race
In full: What a wonderful race. Very challenging terrain but with wondeful organisation, ultra friendly marshalls, jelly babies galore and a course that meanders through orchards, poppy field and acres of wheat. The best part had to be the large table at the finish loaded with home made cakes and flap jacks.

In short: This is my favourite race so far! Granted I gave up on any PB thoughts as soon as I read the course blurb, but the scenary is beautiful, and the "race" has a great atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, and was almost sad to see the end!
