In short: Never walked after 400 yards before, but in the end I was glad I did as I was able to run all but the hills at midway and the hill at the end...
In full: Distant views in the cool spring sunshine, a lovely grind up a valley at about 14 miles with a sparkling stream below. A couple of fords or stepping stones if you preferred, and a smart long sleeved T-shirt for just turning up. Hardly a car in sight. I'd wanted to do this one for some years, it is tough and I probably left it 10 years too late, but still very much enjoyed it.

In short: A nightmare - but a great challenge
In full: Enetered this with far too much over confidence both in my fitness and ability. A lack of respect for the punishing terrain coupled with far too fast start meant the last 8 miles was a nightmare of epic proportions. I'd certainly do this again so I can say I've beaten it.

In short: owwww - switch backs a killer...just as I was enjoying the race the agony began at 10 miles! Beautiful run but tough..the switchbacks wear you down for whats coming later but the marshalls are lovely, so friendly. Sheer guts and detemination needed b
