In short: My third time at this race. It is one of my favourites. Flat as a pancake. In full: What happened to the predicted thunderstorms? I was boiling! The first 5K went well and I was well on track to smash my PB, but by 7K I was really flagging and couldn't wait to finish. The marshalls were very encouraging, but the crowd support was non-existent except at the beginning and end. Hey ho. I guess I'll be back next year for another stab at my PB. In short: 520 finishers for a local race speaks for itself In full: Great organisation. There must be something special for a 10k race in the fens to be this popular every year. Not a big fan of the start, but I'm not sure what they can do really given the road layout. I'm sure that they've explored all the options. Date of review: May 9, 2011

In short: Excellent race. In full: Start would be better further down the road rather than than the very congested initial loop around a side road. Parked cars were a problem together with people cutting across grass verges etc rather than sticking to the road. Another point worth making (and occurs at other races as well), is when will very slow runners learn not to be so close to the start line but start further back according to their ability?
Anyway, enough said on the start. This was an excellent race, with an extremely friendly atmosphere in aid of a good cause. All the marshals were very supportive & may I congratulate the organisers for all their hard work. :) Date of review: May 9, 2011

In short: its the fens - its flat and fast In full: nothing much to add to whats already been said, the start is a bit scrappy, the beer is a nice touch - although i dont normally drink im making an exception tonight.
next year - maybe have another gate open so people can get into/ out of the grounds without meeting on coming runners from the fun race, when i finished i had to make a dash for my car (family commitments) and had to either walk through the final 100m of the race or jump the fence, i with a few others jumped the fence as we couldnt get out by other means. or we couldnt see one - i maybe wrong on this point- if so i appologise.
did i say the beer was nice :) Date of review: May 8, 2011

In full: This is one of my local Races but due to calender clashes I have never been able to do it, this year I was free and enjoyed myself emensly especially the off road section which can often be not to everyones taste. The start is quirky but no different to the Tulip 10k in Spalding. Organisers made everyone feel welcome no matter what the standard of their running and over 520 on the start line in a small rural village close to Peterborough. Great Day out Date of review: May 8, 2011
