In short: Flat, Fast and a bit different
In full: Easy parking, well marshalled, bit of a different kind of race with an Olympic venue at it's heart.

Well run and a damn good PB course if the sun and wind stays away

In short: Was very surprised to be told that all races aren't as good!
In full: My first ever race and I loved it. Didn't feel intimidated, other runners were chatty and smiley. The course is easy and well laid out - I think as a newbie the last thing you want to worry about is where the hell am I going! Loved the fact that they called mine and my husbands name out as we crossed the line, made it very special. Will definitely do it next year and hope to take a decent chunk off my time of 61 mins (Can you call it a PB when you've only run one race???)

In short: Lovely flat course, good facilities, brilliant organisation, chip timing
In full: This was a really well organised event.

From the well-marshalled car parking, the excellent facilities, secure bag storage, pacer runners, water stations, chip timing, to the great encouragement from the organisers, this event was arranged with runners in mind. It is a nice, flat, wide, car-free track; definitely PB material. Should attract both beginners and pros, and had with a really friendly atmosphere; only my 2nd 10km but it all worked like clockwork.

Best bit - the guy on the loudspeaker encouraging finishers home by name as they approached the finish line. Could do better bits - 1. I needed a 40 min pacer!!! 2. Official event photos still not posted after 4 days... :-( I'll be back for another PB in 2012 though!!!

In short: Flat course, nice surface and great goody bags !
In full: This was my first 10k and I picked for its reputation as a flat and fast race. In this respect it was perfect because I managed a time of 42:48 which I was very happy with considering my 5k PB was 19:00.

I thought the pacers were great. They were really supportive and kept chatting all the way round. They even offered around cups of water at the regular water stations which was a nice touch.

The organisation was good - the goody bag was packed with interesting things and the medal was really nice. The queues for the toilets were very long though and it is worth noting for next year that there are also toilets in the boathouse. Very few people seemed to realise ...

With water, Powerade and bananas at the finishing funnel as well as toothpaste, toothbrush and other goodies I felt my £14.00 was very well spent.

In full: Was warned from previous reviews that this race was a little bit dull. No constantly changing scenery but for where we were it was pleasant enough. Nice & flat too.

Plenty of free parking although was a bit of a walk to the start!

Could have done with a few more toilets, a few minutes before the gun went off I was still in the queue!

The organisation seemed fine & the marshals were friendly & supportive. The medal was pretty good & the goody bag lived up to its name, plenty in there!

In short: Great flat course, ideal for beginners and PBs, good organisation, picturesque location
In full: Really enjoyed this, only my second 10k race, and despite the very warm day managed to knock 4.5minutes off PB down to 53minutes. Good flat route, didn't find it boring as it's a lovely setting. The atmosphere at start was good with the race commentator being excellent, free good parking and cafe available for good drinks and food before and after. The only thing I would say compared to other reviewers would be that there was not much supporter atmosphere apart from at start, finish and halfway - due to the layout of the route supporters cannot really get up to other points on the route to cheer and still get back to the finish in time to see you come in (unless they run too!!)Very generous goody bag.
