In short: Wow! A brilliant introduction to cross country/multi-terrain - fabulous atmosphere.
In full: Am still buzzing. Was a little apprehensive before the race as I'd heard its v v tough but I so enjoyed it - so many different terrains and views that its impossible to get bored! Meeting a grumpy bull made for an interesting extra!!

In short: Challenging course, very well organised with friendly marshalls.
In full: This was my first off road event, so I found it extremly challenging.
The scenery was fantastic, the course was well marked out and the marshalls were great. I found that the other runners were all very friendly and supportive too.
However my thighs are killing me and I am struggling to walk down the stairs without going backwards!

In short: Tough but with plenty of highs (literally and figuratively!).
In full: I'm proud to be from Belper - this race route shows the beauty of the area. (Don't let Tesco ruin it!!! see www.batsfusive.co.uk.) The organisation was excellent, water/marshalls great. A bit more pre-publicity around Belper and showing the route might encourage a few more locals out in support along the way (in the four or five places reasonably accessible by road); my husband was one of only a handful cheering people round. The photographer deserves a cheer too, with his pics available to download free providing even further value for money. Will definitely be doing it next year.

In short: Groovy Tour of Derwent Valley. Nice Sortie into Shining Cliff Wood to boot.
In full: 9.95 out of 10. Only downside was the long wait for the presentations as the recipients had to wait a very long time for their trophies, which after running 30K isn't good. Also for £10, you'd expect a slightly better range of prizes!!

Everything else, especially the marshalling, route marking and craic were fantastic. Well done BRUFC.

In short: Tough race, well organised and well worth the trip
In full: This race really is as described, hilly, multi-terrain & 30K!! However, excellent organisation, route markers and marshalls made for a great trip out. I used this as a training run and boy do I know I've run it! Found it tough in parts but felt brilliant at the finish, even the cold showers couldn't dampen my spirits. Will be back next year and will spread the word about this excellent race. Well Done Belper Rugby Club.

In short: Challenging terrain and tough, but extremely rewarding and fun . . .
In full: . . . .the antithesis of running on a tred mill. My first race at this distance and I found it great in every sense, friendly, well organised, great scenery . . .

A definite a race for your diary

This is also great event for walkers and I surprised there weren’t more.
