In short: You'll probably already know if you want to do this
In full: It's in Yorkshire! It's a marathon! It's offroad! The title tells you a lot of what you need to know. Strangely enough, they haven't gone out of their way to make it crazyhard. Lots of welcome contouring making up the distance and a real variety of terrain - moorland, rocks, roots, grassland, hardpack trails, cowfields, and a (very little) road. Nice course. A recce/study of the map/knowledgeable person to follow would all help. I don't know what people are complaining about - I've got a new PB for the distance :)

In short: A really challenging and enjoyable event. Made all the better by a great variety of route and conditions. The welcoming stewards, fantastic support and overall friendliness of the day made this a special race.
In full: The best bit for me was the excellent homemade hot food and cakes at the finish. Thank you to Keighley and Craven AC and all their volunteers for making this a great day, I will definately try to do it again next year when my quads recover.

In short: Hard. Very hard. Great views. Bargain price. Well organised. Did I mention it's hard?
In full: Well done KCAC for a great race. It's very well organised (yes, numpties like me need more signs en route as I did over 27 miles due to wrong turns) and it's a complete bargain. I've never been so well fed at any event - biscuits, cakes, parkin (v. nice!)on the way round, hot soup, tea & more cake at the finish. All for a tenner!
As for the race itself - yes it's as hard as they say - a guaranteed PW. But that's part of the joy of it. Forget the time and enjoy the challenge and the scenery. Try it yourself next year (or 'just' do the half on the same day). Fabulous run in near-perfect weather conditions.

In short: Great scenary, challengng and tough, recommended
In full: I have decided to avoid road marathons and stick to a few off road marathons a year whilst training is on 'tickover' between serious ultras. Can't recommend this highly enough. Great scenary friendly competitiors, all too fast for me but what the hell...
No signs to help drivers find the event centre. Leave lots of spare time or plan carefull multimap/sat nav. Thanks Charlie

In short: Brilliant race in wonderful countryside
In full: Organisation much improved on last year, no complaints. Definitely 'part-marked', must have run 27 miles (top tip, don't assume the person in front knows where they are going!). Really enjoyed it, great weather, really good course, nice mix of terrain and wonderful scenery. Highly recommended!
