In short: a painful pleasure
In full: i love this race, mixed terain, lots of friendly people to chat with on the way round, some people i caurt up with from last year. i found a couple of keighley runner, pete and trish who endured my company for most of the second half of the race, helping me to improve on last years time by 25mins. great run for a lone runner, everyone freindly and helpful, and the cake also kept me going. good mucky fun, hope to catch up with everyone again next year.

In short: Hills, moorland, reservoirs, tracks, paths, viaducts and a fair amount of mud!
In full: A really good mix of terrain with plenty of wild scenery and conditions underfoot. This year (my first) it was dry, overcast and calm, though in murky weather I imagine parts of the first half could be pretty bleak. If you aren't lucky enough to have other runners in your sights, in places you may need a map as many sections, turning points and junctions aren't waymarked. All in all a great route though quite tough going at times.

In short: Perfect weather makes for good times
In full: It is a tough off-road race which seems to epitomise Yorkshire and if you take the time to learn the course you willbe rewarded. It doesn't feel like a marathon because it is easily divided into small varying sections.

There is evrything you could want from a multi-terrain race from bleak, exposed moors to running over a viaduct and idealic countryside footpaths. Really great experience which was helped by good conditions underfoot and excellent organisation. If you want a challenge - I reccomend it - I don't think anything crossed my mind the whole race except for remembering the route and checking underfoot for hazards - It's tough but well worth it!

In short: Great day - highly recommend it
In full: A brilliant race - managed to take a whole 40mins of my previous time so i'm happy.

You really did need to reccy the route beforehand, quite a few people had difficultly navigating, its tough but worth it!!!
