In short: first time 10k-fab. Definitely hungry for more now! In full: This was my first 10k and I loved it. The scenery was ok, quite pretty in places, although KIngsteignton isn't particularly attractive. The organisation was excellent. The weather was very hot and there's a killer hill which challenges you towards the end but there's a good amount of water and sponges and the marshalling is excellent. Date of review: June 30, 2005

In short: ok In full: Was ok, conditions very hot and just enough water/sponge stations. Not sure about mile markers - seemed at random intervals (Garmin forerunner measured). Though a little steep to ba asked to pay for T-shirt when race info said T-shirts to all finishers Date of review: June 21, 2005

In short: Did the half-marathon. Hottest day of the year by far. Total respect to those completing the full marathon. In full: So hot on the day I decided after a few miles to just treat this one as a Sunday morning endurance training run. Truth of the matter was that I couldn't keep it going and threw in the towel in terms of a decent time. With a course offering little shade my survival strategy included plenty of walk breaks and lingering longer at the many water/sponge stations. It was a very well organised/marshalled/signposted/friendly event, though support was predictably slim for long stretches. Enjoyed the grandstand finish, but regret not bringing my shades and a hat for protection. Look forward to doing this one again next year when hopefully conditions are more conducive to running. Definitely has pb potential. Hope the Rotarians raised pots of money for a worthwhile charity. Date of review: June 20, 2005

In short: Nice race with some interesting hills In full: It was very hot when I ran it and they managed to have plenty of water stations and didn't run out of water with everyone taking two cups and several sponges. Well done. Date of review: June 20, 2005

In short: The hot weather made for a really challenging marathon. It was just as well that the organiser had arranged for plenty of drink stations. In full: If this is to be the last running of this event, then it'll be a shame, but with less than 100 entrants for a county championship marathon, the event's viability cannot be guaranteed. The course has plenty of potential, as the climbs are few in number and not too long or too steep. The marshals, none of whom are runners, are extremely friendly and numerous, but don't expect too much spectator support. That is until the finish, when the applause ringing down from the racecourse stand make the whole effort seem worthwhile. I'd do it again if the Rotarians do. Date of review: June 20, 2005
