In short: good to be back, more winter marathons please
In full: agree with chip mat and bottle comments, plus superb marshalls. this is a neat race, if a little unlucky in recent years and I hope it takes up a regular slot back in december where it belongs!

In short: Good November Marathon
In full: A slick and well organised marathon. 3 laps with some gentle undulations. Friendly marshalls. Perfect weather made it ideal running conditions. Only downside was that there was no chip map at the start so everyone gets the "gun time" as their offical time.

In short: Bonus autumn/winter marathon. Small field, easy access to parking and start area. Friendly marshals at every turn. Will definitely be back again! Thanks!
In full: This was my 9th marathon and the 1st one I've done with laps. Actually really enjoyed the laps as it helps to break the distance up into manageable chunks. The marshals were great, always encouraging the runners as we went past. Drinks would have been better in bottles as it is never easy to drink out of plastic cups whilst trying to run!
Loved the medal and the towel-nice alternative to an oversized T-shirt! Overall, a great race and one that I would recommend to any serious marathon runner. My finish time was 3 hours 27 mins and I was very happy with that as it was hillier than I expected!
Will be back next year!

In short: Great to see the return of the race this year. Great organisation, friendly marshalls, spectators and other runners. The icing on the cake was the weather which was excellent for the run this year as well.

In short: Very friendly and well organised
In full: Very enjoyable race - terrific support from all the marshalls.
Started my Garmin on the gun but ended up with 30 seconds slower than my watch indicated.

In short: Three laps even pace
In full: I enjoyed this one and the three laps helped with the pace.
A few scary moments on the road mainly from enthusiastic horn blowing supporters that frightened the life out of me. Organisation was good with no problems, got passed at about 16 miles by a greyhound who obviously won the race
Overall fun event

In short: When is a chip not a chip . . .
In full: . . . when there's no starting mat!!!
My official time was 30 seconds more than my watch time - what was the point in having the chip if it's made redundant by the lack of a starting mat.
Only good thing about this race was the friendly marshalls along the way - a big thanks to them.

In short: Nice Autumn Marathon
In full: I was meant to run this last year but it got cancelled due to the weather. I got a low price consolation entry this year so thought why not.

It's my 3rd marathon and I enjoyed the fact that the marathon is over 3 laps. This followed my training pattern of running around Richmond Park three times for my long run.

I enjoyed the fact that I got a hard earned PB.

The organisation was good and there were plenty of marshalls around the course. The stretch of the course through a council estate was not the most scenic, but I was there to race not view the scenary.

All in all a great day out and the timing of the race makes it a great post summer, pre - Xmas event to train for.

In short: My First Marathon - God it hurts!
In full: My first marathon, after starting running 10 months ago. Done 3 half marathons and some 10k events so can't compare it to other full marathons.

Organisation good, starting venue had good facilities although they were still erecting the portable urinal screening half hour before the race, and took them down again 4ish hours later so a bit of a waste. Usual queue for toilets but no massive issues.

Drink stations very good, with water and isotonic. Marshalls very friendly, especially those as you turn into the tower block area on the end of each lap, really helped you lift spirits.

Mile marking was very good, better than some bigger organised events I've been to.

Route was pretty varied, only issue was a short section of loose stone/mud path that looked likely to cause injury.

Medal is decent, the logo'd hand towel/flannel is a bit tight when even 10k events give you technical tops nowadays. Probably useful for the gym.

I enjoyed it but messed up my strategy, got caught up running with better runners for first few miles and regretted it at the end. Although there was a 5hr time limit some of the runners were coming through at 5.20 and still getting times. Finish line is by a playground so handy for the support crew (wives/husbands) to amuse the kids whilst waiting for you.

Timing is done off a chip, but no mat on start line so presume start time taken from a gun. Could be an issue if you started at the back and were going for a PB I suppose. Will probably do again next year.
