In short: Challenging and scenic
In full: Pity the weather was only a few degrees better than last year when it was snowed off. It was difficult to get to the start due to a war games convention at the school next door and cars for this event. However I left about 15 mins before the start and was there 3-5 mins before the horn went. On the course everything was fine, even that hill, except a squeeze through the village at the top where too many parked cars plus an ambulance on course made the runners cut to single file. It was a shame to come back to rural Tunbridge Wells after the Kent countryside.

In short: Hills over hyped!
In full: Missed the start by 8 mins due to the queues out of the sports hall and down the narrow path to the start. However, given the cold weather was grateful to have been able to wait in the warm hall at all! Compared to previous races there was more interaction with traffic than I would like. However, marshalls were great and some good support.

Overall I didn't find the hills that much worse than Watford - it was all in the one 'killer' hill, which I had to finish at walking pace, but the well-timed down hill sections made up for it (the last 2 miles were almost all at a pleasant down hill gradient!)

In short: Great race - challenging but fun
In full: Start was a shambles - it took 15 minutes to get out of the hall, I tried to make my way to the start @9.40 but couldn't get out of the sportshall door! Then caught in the queue to get onto the road. Well marshalled, great support lovely scenery, hills not too bad (!) nasty medal.

In short: I have to say guys, I heard quite a few messages advising people to leave the hall a good 15 minutes before the race to get to the start so sorry, no sympathy there.

In short: C'mon people......what hill?
In full: A challenging and very enjoyable race on a scenic course through the Kent countryside. I've read some issues with people not making the start, but these people should understand you don't just amble to the start with about 10 seconds to the off and not expect a delay. In regards to getting in and out the narrow hall entrance, did people not realise this might be an issue when they were queuing to get into the hall before the start. The course was well marshalled, and drink stops were not a problem. Excellent support from the public considering classic February weather conditions. Will back next year...just hope this hill every one was talking about is included in the course. ;-)

In short: Challenging route, but made enjoyable by the scenery!
In full: It was my first half marathon, but certainly won’t be my last. It was great to have use of the sports centre, which was a welcome shelter from the cold. The hills were a killer, but when the sleet/hail started, I really began to wonder why I wasn’t spending Sunday morning under the duvet! Thanks to the marshals and organisers for what was an very enjoyable & well organised race.
