In short: 2008 was my first "proper" race - loved it and got the bug. There is a little hill to enjoy... In full: I'd only done a couple of 3 mile fun runs prior to this and had completed my first 5 mile training run just 3 weeks before. I started running in Jan 2007 as a way of managing my diabetes but am now - thanks largely to Timberhonger - hooked! At the age of 46 and a "newbie" I doubt that I'll ever win anything but I've entered a few races this season and am enjoying being slightly further away from last place each time... In short: A tough course on a hot day. In full: Although the hill at 8km is well known, I noticed that we went up exactly the same hill in the first 1-2km. However one does not notice it then because of the packed field and freshness of one's legs! I never found the portaloos mentioned in the information sheet - the public toilets were very small. I did the Evesham Vale 10K 2 weeks later more than 2 minutes faster, showing the Timberhonger course is tougher. Date of review: July 16, 2008

In short: A really enjoyable race. I spent the first 7km wondering why it had a real reputation for killer hills, and the last 3km realising the answer to that one! Still a great race and very well marshalled. In full: I'll defo be back next year - a banana/energy drink at the end wouldn't go amiss though! Date of review: July 6, 2008

In short: Not a bad race uphill. No showers In full: Very good testing race. Uphill in places. Well marshalled. But the showers did not work. Surely somebody knew there was a race on and they could have gotten them sorted? But that was the only nigle. Date of review: June 30, 2008

In short: Warm and hilly but suitable for all abilities In full: Quite a tough course especailly as it was quite hot when the sun came out but traffic-free and a good place to start my comeback. Good medal, numerous, supportive marshalls. Date of review: June 30, 2008
