In short: A great local race - well worth making a regular in your calendar but beware the final hill!

In short: Great local race!! Worth giving it a go!!
In full: Started on time - which is fantastic!!! Very well organised! The water station was fine where it was - twice round the loop! Great atmosphere finishing in the park - it kept family entertained whilst waiting! Great! Thanks to everyone involved!

In short: Horrible last hill before finish!
In full: Very scenic run. Hills not too bad going towards top of hill. Nice pleasing laps at top. But one hell of a hill the last 2km from end. I ended up walking up it. Also 25 degree heat. Heat + Hill no joy!!

In short: It's been said before, but I'll say it again - Hilly!
In full: Really enjoyable morning. A 10am start might have been preferable in the heat. Linking the event to the carnival is a great idea and gives the spectators something to do (and runners once finished). Good support at the finish and great organisation throughout the event.

The course has been described in detail below, but to summarise, the nasty hills are at the end of the loop (so you have to do this twice) and then at around 8km. The last one seems to go on forever. The trek back across the park is flat but seems to take longer than expected!

In short: Excellent folk on this one, full of encouragement on the hills
In full: Great atmosphere, my 7 year old loved getting his medal for the childrens challange. He now wants to do more running.
10k was challanging but great fun trying to get over that hill at the end without stopping.

In short: Nice race - mind those hills!
In full: Nice race for a hot Sunday morning - maybe the 11am start was a bit late in the weather. The link to the carnival and fair was nice. The children's challenge was very good - my 8 year old had a good go. The whole course is undulating with a long slope towards the end - hard work for someone who doesn't have any hills near home to train on! Overall - well done to all involved in organisation and all finishers in the heat!

In short: Good route, never too crowded, doesn't get any flatter does it?
In full: I really enjoyed this race and - despite the heat - managed to beat last year's time (on self timing anyway). I'll be back (again)in 2010!

In short: Good testing summer run with a sting in the tail
In full: Ran this one 3 times now and still didnt remember there was a steep climb back at 8k. Saw a few people struggling with the heat. Well done as ever to the St John's and race marshalls
