In short: Fantastically muddy and gloriously fun! In full: What a brilliant event the Eridge Park 10 was! The course was tough with long hills, steep declines and mud everywhere, but that was what made it so great. The organisation was first rate and friendly, the location was stunning and you actually got a free t-shirt that fitted. At the end you got free beer and cake. What more could you ask for? In short: Beautiful scenry, excellent atmosphere In full: I didn't know what to expect but the whole event was very well organised. The scenery was great, so much so that you didn't mind all the mud and hills (well not too much). Everyone was really friendly and I would recommend it. The race has made me want to do more cross country races. Date of review: September 17, 2008
In short: MUDDY AND HILLY BUT DAMN GOOD FUN! In full: I had been racing the day before and had heard this one was tough so was looking forward to a nice scenic slow run - and boy do you need to take it slow over some of the muddy bits!
It was a thoroughly enjoayable race but unless you have some good studs and can control yourself over mud (sadly I cannot and have no studs!) you are never going to get a 10 mile PB.
My favourite and worst part was the bog, i was not impressed at being stuck in mud to my knees at first but soon discovered that it was a real laugh and that this was a race for fun and not for taking to seriously.
The free cake at the end was a real treat after all that hard work. To sum up, I loved this race, I would say to anyone go for it but be careful and prepare for some tough hills!!
In short: Tough but fun In full: Despite achieving a personal worst for 10 miles by a long chalk, I thoroughly enjoyed this race. In fact I can’t believe that after living locally for the last 5 years this is the first time that I’ve run it.
I was quite nervous before the start being my first race of the year, but the chance to see this beautiful corner of East Sussex which is rarely open to the pubic was too good to miss. Even taking in my lack of fitness this wasn’t the toughest off road course I’ve ever run but it was more than tough enough and the free beer & cakes at the end real made it all worth while.
In short: superb morning out. great fun. everyone should give it a go In full: What a race!! Very hilly, very muddy!! and free beer when you make it round. The Marshalls were excellent and all very supportive. One of the most enjoyable races I have done in 10 years. See you in 2009. Date of review: September 15, 2008
In short: My new favourite race! In full: Overall, a brilliant race. Loved the course- the uphills aren't that bad (honest!) and the downhills are great. Jellybabies at water stations, and cake, fruit and beer at the end. Lovely marshalls. One minor complaint- the organisers obviously didn't think about people coming without a car, and didn't organise any bag storage- although they did let us keep things in the beer tent. But this certainly wasn't enough to spoil my day. Date of review: September 15, 2008
