In short: It hurt! In full: My first marathon - what a one to choose! Miles 20 and 21: need I say more?
Marshals wer excellent, as always - I did the half last year -, and the support was sparse but vocal and cunningly placed to catch me at my most vulnerable.
Thanks to all involved. Date of review: September 27, 2005

In short: Had a really enjoyable experience. In full: I found the hills to be more demanding than I had anticipated but the glorious weather and beautiful course made up for this. There was ample support and lots of drinks and sponge stations. Date of review: September 25, 2005

In short: Tough, but very enjoyable! In full: An excellently organised race. Superb views and friendly support along the course. Even with a small field of runners spread out I never felt alone. The course was tough, but having cycled it before I know what to expect and actually found the hill at mile 19 less of a problem on legs than on the bike! The massage for £5 at the finish was also excellent and value for money! Date of review: September 21, 2005

In short: Excellent race, friendly organisers, interesting course and lovely weather In full: My first marathon and I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure what happened to my legs from mile 19 to 24 but I'm not going to blame the hills. Hard work staggering PAST so many pubs! Date of review: September 21, 2005

In short: Excellent organisation, could have flattened the hills though! In full: This was my first marathon and I feel like it will be one of the toughest I ever do. I remember going UP plenty of hills but not down any!
I had a bad day and was a lot slower than the time I secretly wanted, but that shouldn't take anything away from what is an excellently ran event.
I will definitely be back sometime to make amends! Date of review: September 19, 2005

In short: Excellent race - challenging -but pb potential if hills are your thing In full: Second marathon after London and loved every minute - beautifull countryside - excellent organisation and marshalling - lots of water and sponge stops which were great. No paticular hill was overly cahllenging but the stress seemed to accumulate in your legs towards the end of the 26.2 - lots of ups and downs- took a massive 17.5 minutes off my London PB and got my GFA so a pb is definetly doable !
