In short: Fast, flat and foggy
In full: This is a fast race and almost guarantees you a PB. There's something about running with so many quicker runners that pulls you along - and there are a lot of fast runers in this one.

The weather was ideal, slight chill, totally still day and the fog meant that we didn't have to look at the industrial outlets along Kirkstall Rd. It's not a pretty course but its a great way to sign off the end of the year as it has a good lively atmosphere and is very well organised.

Well done and thank-you to all the organisers and marshalls.

In short: Super speedy competitive race
In full: Excellent for a PB but packed with fast runners. Start was cramped as ever but the organisation of the expected times was better than it used to be. Now the Abbey isn't on the route (particularly in the fog this year - you couldn't even see it) the route is not a sightseeing trip though!

In short: Quick but busy
In full: This is the second time i have done this event and do enjoy it. It's not as flat as you may think but definate promise for neagtive splits. Road was slippy at points due to road works but not much the organisers can do about that. No room for any more capacity in my opinion. Start and finish areas are very busy. Much better value than Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k though.
Scarborough 10k followed by this is a great way to finish my year.
Will be back next year

In short: Very quick race.
In full: Age old frustration of runners not lining up per ability. Self policing of colour coded numbers doesn't work.

Other than that, I did the race for a pb and got one, so I have no complaints.

Not perfectly flat, but still very fast and I liked the long straight out and back course. I never pay attention to scenery, so the surroundings didn't bother me.

Accurate KM markers, will be back next year.

In short: Super fast race
In full: A great race from outside the Town Hall to the Abbey and back with a great PB potential as long as you can elbow to the front - some runners are extremely optimistic and start way to near the front. The only down side where the number of participants who just stopped to walk, regardless of who or how many runners where behind them. Great organization and a race to keep returning too

In short: Good fast PB potential course
In full: A good well organised fast PB potential 10k event. Organised for and by the charity help the aged. The roadworks on the course this year proved a little hazardous especially in the are where there was mud on the course, in the centre are of the road.
The marshalls and staffing are excellent and provide support along the route. Entry into the start area is somewhere that needs improving on this expanding in size race. Previous years we have been able to climb over the barrier but this year was told we had to go all the way around.
The finish is well organised with water, energy drink and tshirts well funnelled. The are adjacent to the finish lane gets very busy and could be improved.
Overall an excellent race and average value for money, however it is for charity, and I guess the cost of closing roads and setting up cones Etc is very high.

In short: Well organised. Be nice if runners would organise themselves better!
In full: A well run event. Despite over hearing some complaints about lack of staff (this is a charity event - probably all volunteers, I wonder if complainers ever volunteer to help at such events...?) I felt it was well organised with enough marshals in bright bibs to ask for directions (eg where to put chips after race).

If any of the volunteers on the course read this - thankyou for your encouragement! :)

Didn't seem like a particularly strong/friendly atmosphere amongst the 'fun' runners as I have seen in other 10ks, including this one in previous years.

So relieved that someone handed in my armband with phone and car/house key!

In short: Sub 35 mins
In full: First time at this - fast route no doubt although not flat, flat. Anyone else find the surface a little slippy? I had to switch to the cycle lane on 7k.

Note to organisers - if you're not going to police the time zones then you need to try and explain that 60min plodders need not be in the sub 35mins box - these guys spoil other peoples races and at £16 - its not an inexpensive one to waste.

Found the staff at the end great - very smiley and upbeat. I'll be back...
