In short: Great friendly off-road race with nice scenery
In full: A lovely new off-road race in stunning Stanmer Park. It was a family event too with lots of races for kiddies and the atmosphere was very friendly. The 8k trail run was great. There were less than 300 runners. There was a bit of a killer hill at the start which nearly did me in but the rest of the race was fairly easy (a lot of it was through woodland which was welcome given the heat). The views over the Downs at the top of Stanmer Park were stunning and well worth the effort. The last few miles were on a slight downhill so great fun. All in all a great event, well organised and a welcome addition to Brighton's running calendar. Many thanks to the organisers and the very supportive marshals.

In short: beautiful, well-organised challenging race
In full: the kids events were very well subscribed and supported.
The setting is beautiful.
The 8k course is challenging, but at least the gorgeous wooded route is distracting.
Will definitely do this race/ event again. It would be nice if the grounds could stay open all day so the family could hang around for a picnic afterwards

In short: Amazing Scenery
In full: They said they put more 50p in the meter and they certainly did as the weather was lovely and Sunny once the running started, although misty rain before hand.
Uphill for the first 2.5 miles then downhill all the way for the rest.
Very well done for me water, T-Shirt, Goodie Bag etc, plus after you was able to watch the Elite's do it although a slightly different course.

In short: Location, location, location
In full: A new 8k trail run at one of Brighton's best kept secrets. The weather behaved with the early mist burning off to leave blue skies, sun and warmth. A run of two halves, uphill and downhill. The uphill was to the thud of a nearby overnight rave, some of the survivors from looked liked extras from a zombie film but they clapped us so peace reigned.
Excellent first edition of this race, please run it again, totally recommended.
