In short: Tougher than it looks In full: Was a warm run however despite this i managed to get under 55mins which was the plan, plenty of marshals but this is needed as the route is round lots of suburban streets which after a while all look the same. the 2 lap course doesn't help! considering the run is Harrogate there is no scenery! Nice atmosphere however with mixture of club and non club runners. Nice goody bag with Yorkshire tea bags....but why oh why is the boot bag exactly the same as last years??? please can we have a different colour or at least alternate with a t shirt? In short: Good race on another warm day in Harrogate In full: Have done this race a few times now and thought this course is probably one of the best they have come up with, but did seem longer than 10k to me, based on my time. Date of review: July 26, 2010

In short: A 2 lap rolling route through leafy residential avenues with a fast final mile. In full: Shunning the grassy commons of the Stray for a pair of 5km circuits that takes you around affluent, tree lined, residential avenues this is a nice route with one or two inclines that take a little more out of the legs than expected.
At the end there is the reward of a predominantly downhill final mile, and for anyone with something left in the tank the chance for some fast overtaking.
Despite a rather abrupt start (I didn't catch any of the usual safety type announcements, but admit I was some way front the front row so may have been a n amplification issue) the organisation by Harrogate Harriers was excellent. The marshaling was top draw with some light hearted banter, and all credit to the lively PA commentary at the finish. Date of review: July 26, 2010

In short: Tougher than you think In full: I didn't enjoy myself, but that was my fault rather than the race's. As other people have said, lots of marshalls for support and encouragement. The course was a little uninspiring, the leafy suburbs of town are nice enough but with the twists and turns it became disorientating. OK yes it was warm too, have to question the wisdom of handing out water in cups at the end of the first lap when you had to try and drink them running uphill (might have been better to give the bottles out mid race and save the cups for the finish?)But all in all a nice friendly race over a challenging course in a lovely town. In short: Good atmoshpere but challenging race In full: Well organised race with great spectators cheering you along. You are not going to get a pb on this course as there are quite a few steady climbs. It has a very fast finish to the race with a steep downhill section going into flat to the line. In short: Quite tough In full: Quite a tough course with lots of long climbs, nothing too steep but still noticeable in the legs. Brilliant marshalls - loads of them too. Nice downhill stretch to the finish (if you ignore the very last 20 metres uphill). Not a PB course but a nice morning out. Date of review: July 25, 2010
