In short: Again a brilliant and challenging off roader with stunning scenery
In full: Probably my favourite run of the year. Great views, great hills and steep coastal path steps that I just can not run up! Took advantage this year by caning the first 2 miles to avoid the queues I got stuck in last year and managed to run it 17 mins quicker. I love the run-in at the end with Corfe Castle in full view. Will be back next year, and the year after, and the...

In short: 4th visit
In full: This year even more club mates joined in to slay The Beast & it's become an annual trip.

Met up with others who also go each year & who all talk of similar events like the Midsummer Munro, Terminator, Rough & Tumble, Man v Horse. You get the idea - this attracts a certain type.

It's brilliant. Do this race and you'll be back too.

In short: As promised the scenery made up for the steps
In full: Brilliant race, over a lovely course, but somewhat frustrating over the first few miles queuing at stiles and having to walk bits I wanted to run because those in front were walking and there was no way of getting past. The marshalls were all brilliant, especially the ones at the bottom of the second set of steps who read my mind and managed to keep my going. My favourite bit was coming out of the trees, seeing Corfe Castle for the first time and flying down the grassy hill.

In short: As always an excellent race.
In full: Fantastic race again. I Know that I am heading for a really tough race but you get a great buzz when you have climbed the second stairway and have enough juice to put in a fast finish. Big thankyou to the marshalls that offered their encouragement all round the course, especially the ladies before the home straight. When you get a well done from them you know it is only seconds before you finish. A big well done to Poole AC

In short: Scenic, challenging, rewarding race. Well organised.
In full: Thanks to the organisers, helpers, etc for laying on a superb race. Very tough in places, but fab scenery and long flat sections between hard hills. I did the event for the first time 10 years ago. It was just as good back then, though not as many people. I'll be back. Thanks again all involved.
