In short: great fun on a cold, frosty morning!
In full: really enjoyed this, a particularly nice touch for me being able to take the dog! Nice mix of beginners and quick runners, good atmosphere, and appreciated going past the spectators a few times (though the dog got far more support than me!)
The post-race mulled wine was very welcome too - when I finally found it!

In short: Fantastic way to spend a chilly Sunday morning.
In full: I did wonder if i was making the right decision when thermometer read -3, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Margam Park, especially the mulled wine at the end! The course was great, made such a refreshing change to running on the side of a road. There were one or two slippery patches, but that's to be expected in temperatures that low, and the marshals were on hand to warn runners when approaching such areas. I will most definitely be back next year.

In short: Good run - Poor parking
In full: The run was good, if somewhat cold. The course was enjoyable with one noticeable incline but nothing to slow the pace and the 10k passed the “spectators” on four occasions which is always nice and gives you a lift. However there were some tight bends and icy conditions causing at least one runner to slip and pull a muscle. The parking was a shambles with just about everyone getting stuck in the mud including, to my joy, a Range Rover!! The only vehicle able to move around the grass car park was the one tractor pulling all the cars out. I also noted that there were two runners in the 10k wearing 64, I would question if this was an admin error or a runner running for free with an old number…. Despite this I would run it again and had an enjoyable morning.

In short: Surprisingly enjoyable run despite the weather...
In full: On another day this would have been an enjoyable run on a very scenic course in the grounds of Hatfield House. This was not another day, this was a day of freezing temperatures and driving rain! At times it was a real struggle, but with the help of enthuasiastic marshalls i just beat my goal time of 60 minutes. The course is undulating, it doesn't have big hills but the mainly updhill stretch to the finish was certainly challenging. The mince pie and hot chocolate at the end were much appreciated!

In short: Freezing but really enjoyable race - great atmosphere
In full: Sat in my car 10 minutes before the race I did wonder what I was doing there on a freezing sunday morning in november with driving rain....but got out the car and to the start line, actually started at the front (first for me!!), and off we went. Took 3 miles for my hands to thaw out and it was so cold that me legs pounded away very quickly - which helped my time. I didnt find the course hard - which based on other comments, is a reflection of my fitness. Setting was lovely and I smashed my PB set 4 weeks agos at the Herts 10k (1hr 1min 13 sec) , by nearly 7 mins (53 mins 55sec).....which was an excellent bonus. The mince pies and hot chocolate at the end were fab - and it was nice that the rain had finally stopped and a good collection of runners gathered around by the mince pie tent chatting - great atmosphere.
Issues - there was no where dry for people to wait before the start of the race. You had to go back to car (which luckily were parked right near the start). There were only 5 portaloos which meant that we nearly missed the start of the race getting in that last minute pit stop!!!
