In short: I come back year after year and it gets better each time
In full: Great, indeed perfect weather this year. Like the chip timing. The hills seemed harder this year but must be age and the excessive speed at the start. From other comments the finish gets a bit chaotic towards the end, but was fine for me. I like the cotton tee shirt (unlike others) to add the the collection and the glass momento. I'll be back.

In short: Brilliant - My first race and in my home town made it special
In full: Excellent race. Great organisation and very friendly. Runners of all abilities make the race perfect for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. It is a very flat course with only a couple of inclines which makes it very PB-friendly. Recommended

In short: Best Half Marathon in the North West
In full: My favourite race, 7th time in 9 years and will keep on coming back. Chip timing this year was a welcome addition to an otherwise well organised race. To all those people who've complained about the traffic problems - what do you expect for a major race in a small town. Either park away from the start area or don't come by car (for me it's always an incentive to run quicker to beat the jams!). T-Shirts and momentos are always good as is the local support. The great weather rounded off a great day with a great PB. The organisers have to be a little strict on the cut off times otherwise the cost rockets as they have to pay more the Police to keep roads closed. Best race in the North West by far!

In short: A well organised, well supported half marathon
In full: The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the organisation great, the supporters (marshalls & spectators) brilliant and the fact that chip times were sent by text immediately after finishing was fantastic! A really enjoyable half marathon.

My only 'areas for improvement'(!) would be the usual request for more toilets at the start and more small T-shirts (small sizes had run out by the time I finished at just under 2 hrs).

In short: Tougher than it looks
In full: The organisers have taken on board previous comments and provided chip timimg, hiwever, this did not stop many slower runners lining up far to near the front of the field. This is very annoying for faster runners. The organisers can't be blsmed for this, they have done all they can.
With closed roads the course is very runner friendly but the second half is quite tough with one or two stiff undualtions.
Drinks stations are plentiful, but they really should do away with the plastic cups and provide water in bottles.
The cost was quite steep, however it does provide reasonable value for money and I will definitely do it again.

In short: Fantastic event
In full: My first Wilmslow Half and I was very surprised at how friendly it was having been put off by the website and the race handbook. Great stewards and supporters en-route. Chip timing with text confirmation shortly after finishing was a bonus. Water in sports bottles would be better at the water stations as it's nearly impossible to run and drink out of plastic cups without spilling most of it which left me dehydrated by the end. This situation was worsened by no isotonic drinks being available by the time I finished. Good quality t-shirt and memento. All in all a great race. I'll be back next year!

In short: Well organised, fantastic scenery, perfect conditions, friendly atmosphere, slightly congested in parts and terrible traffic before and after the event.
