In short: A good race made brilliant by the tunnel
In full: The whole race was good but I would recommend it to anybody just for the single moment as you run out of the tunnel and to an inspiring drum beat and a huge crowd to spur you on.

In short: loved it!
In full: My only Marathon - but it was definitely a good one! Great city and really enjoyed the route...a bit strange going through the tunnel for over a mile of the route but so nice to come out of the other side knowing that you are over half way! Great atmosphere and not too many runners, which meant it was easy to stick at your own pace but also encouraged along by the crowds when times were tough! A very memorable race :)

In short: Only because I won't do any marathon more than once!
In full: This is a very unusual race in that you run through the Mersey Tunnel from the Wirral side to the Liverpool side, with half-way being in the tunnel.

The route is very varied, a mixture of estuary front, city centre, park and industrial, it doesn't get boring.

The organisation was excellent, there are plenty of shuttle buses to get you to the start, and the PA at the start was very good too.

Support throughout was good, excellent in places- the drummers at the exit of the tunnel particularly so.

There is definite PB potential here, I trained for 3:30 and ended up with 3:29:11, although there is a whacking great hill at about 18 miles, once you get through that it's either flat or downhill.

Highly recommended!

In short: Fantastic scenery, crowds and amazing medal. Very well organized.
In full: Easy, flat, fast first half, very hard 2nd half to race. 2 miles uphill through tunnel and towards Leeds street, steep hills up Water Street & Upper Parliament Street, hills throughout Sefton Park area. Spoke to many runners who have run numerous marathons and every one of them said this was the hardest city marathon had done. Very little PB chance unless you have thighs like Roberto Carlos!

In full: first marathon and I have to say I loved it, tough but Liverpool was amazing, coming out of the tunnel will stay with me forever and the clincher was the volunteers at the finish, absolutely wonderful group of people who made everyone who ran feel special.....a massive thank you to all involved

In short: Great Race but hard for a 1st timer
In full: Really enjoyed the race and the 1st half was fantastic. There are a few mean hills but you would get that anywhere.
My first marathon and i'm happy that i have chosen Liverpool.
The website could do with a HUGE overhall as its crammed with too much info about other runs and the organisers need to embrace social networking more - Copy the organisers of the Chester marathon.

Overall 8 out of 10 and I am being picky to find fault.
