In short: Great course and views
In full: Shame about the rain, but a very quick course, good down hill last mile.

In short: Very flat course, and the cooling rain made for a great PB!
In full: Not having done a long run in far too long, I was expecting a slow time here, but the flat, mainly open course, and cooling rain brought me home in a surprisingly good time!
The marshalls were generally fine, despite the conditions, the entry fee was a bargain at £6.50, and it was nice to have a wide array of runners.
Will be up for it again next year. Thanks!

In short: this was my first race, and apart from the torrential rain which cannot be helped, i have no negative comments

In short: Very fast course
In full: My partner and I both ran huge pbs, so came home feeling that we'd got our money's worth. However, there's definite room for organisational improvements, particularly around safety. Much of the course is on roads open to traffic, and there was a definite lack of signage to inform drivers that a race was in progress. And more marshals would have been helpful in places, particularly on the busy main road coming back into town. More minor complaints: no water, only squash at the finish (despite an over-abundance of water stations on the course!) and no announcement that the presentations were taking place, so we missed them. A little bit of ironing out and this could be a great race.

In short: Not too bad, marshalls encouraging but spoiled by my poor form
In full: Suffered a little on this one due to illness recently so a little disappointed. Would have liked to see a profile of the course beforehand but apart from the last three miles a quick, though uninspiring course. My son ran the fun run but they ran out of t-shirts before he finished so more than a little disappointed with that. Might do it again but only as a last resort.

In full: Largely flat, pretty race with a rather lengthy shallow hill at the end, just when you are looking forward to finishing. It could break the average beginner but well worth gritting your teeth.

In short: Nice local race, good atmosphere, not too challenging
In full: This was only my second race, so I am not an expert. Anyway, I did enjoy the event, the atmosphere was nice and friendly and everyone seemed to have a good time. The organisation was OK, although some things could be easily improved. For example, the portaloos were placed about 1/4 mile from the start line: this means that the last chance to go without risking to miss the start is about 20 - 30 minutes beforehand (there are always queues). I found the course not too challenging, flat as promised, and with good opportunities for speed. The surrounding was very rural, quite enjoyable. There were a sufficient amount of marshalls, all quite friendly and helpful (despite the rain), and a good mile marking system.
We did meet a few oncoming cars and a couple of horses along the way, but they always gave way and altogether I didn't find the traffic too disturbing.
I liked the medal at the end, and I did a better time than my previous race, so I was well pleased.

In short: Great race, could do with a clear route to the finish
In full: I enjoyed this race a lot more than I'd expected when I saw the weather forecast! The marshals were very friendly all the way round and the only problem I had was crossing the road into the leisure centre at the end - could have done with someone stopping cars to give runners priority.
Runners coming in towards the end of the race seemed to be struggling against the flow of people leaving as well - not an ideal finish!

In short: Race was fine ... pity about me ...
In full: I've done this several times, but this time round I failed to prepare properly (because of illnes, injury and holiday). But I gave it a go, anyway ... and promptly blew up at 7 miles! So, I didn't really enjoy the day that much, but I can't blame the organisers for that! From my perspective, it all seemed to go off smoothly. Thanks to all the marshalls who took time to stand in the rain and encourage us as well as directing us. And thanks to the organisers for putting on another efficient event.

In short: Got a PB, so that was good. Not very friendly.
In full: I run at 11 minute miles, obviously I came in close to the end, the lack of support from other runners and marshalls was positivly depressing. I finished and felt completely deflated. When I run I always say hi or smile to other runners and always wait at the end to support the last finishers. This race was definatly for the top notch runners, slow runners not welcome. I went to collect my bag from secure storgae, only nobody there, not so secure. A couple of times I had to ask the marshalls the way as they failed to point the direction. On the roads, the cars were pretty fast on the way back and a couple of times I had to nose dive into the verge so I didn't get flattened. I have learnt my lesson and will stick to charity runs until I can beak the 7 minute mile mark.
