In short: A good one - pleasant, flat to gently rolling course, well-organised. In full: A very good race! The initial three-mile loop around the base is a nice, wide track - plenty of room to navigate around the usual early-race mash-up. Then ten miles of mostly flat, scenic running through villages and fields, with lots of support from marshals and residents. A decent climb around mile 9 is a good challenge, and then it's downhill to flat for the last the 3 - definitely a good race for PBs.
This was a very warm morning, but there was plenty of water available throughout and at the finish. Could've used a few more toilets (but honestly, there's never a race that couldn't use more). Date of review: June 13, 2012

In short: nice event on a hot morning In full: Course was pretty flat for the first 7 miles, a few small hills later on but definately a quick course on a cooler day.
Only negative was picking up numbers in the morning as this was done by surname and although there were 3 queues depending on surname everyone seemed to need the same queue.
I was going to complain about the early start for those of us that had to travel but as the weather was so warm it turned out to be a good thing ;-)
Definately worth a go. Date of review: June 12, 2012

In short: Just simply a great race........ In full: Very well organised with parking right next to the start/finish. 3 miles round the base sorts the runners our before you hit the roads but to be honest I only saw 2 cars during the whle race. Excellantly marshalled and loeads of local support. Superb scenery too and a lovely rolling profile with a great medal and T Shirt at the end. PB for me too so no complaints. In short: Excellent race, will try again next year In full: Excellent well organised race, scenic views, not too much traffic, well marshalled. Three water stations, last two with bottled water (always a bonus). Nice medal, Mars Bar and a long sleeved T Shirt made a worthy goody bag.
Bit hot but the 9am start helped Date of review: June 10, 2012

In short: Just terrific. Really good for all levels of runners and a great atmospere to go with it. In full: Proof again that small races in the countryside are the best. Well marshalled, well supported through all the villages, regular water stations with bottles (yay!) not cups (boo...), barely any traffic, great scenery and fairly flat so good for both PB chasers and beginners.
I love this type of race, with fellow runners giving encouragement as you overtake or get overtaken. I could go on... Put it in your diary for next year. Date of review: June 10, 2012

In short: Well organised.Great route.Friendly supportive marshalls. In full: Very enjoyable race with definite PB potential.Few more loos would have helped but were a few en route too. Knowing where goody bags were would have helped too as no one told me where to collect it but nice t shirt and medal.Plenty of water stations and they were needed as sun quite warm.Good support for all runners right to the end. In short: Very pretty, small, friendly race. A bit hot for me, but water bottles helped. In full: This was my first go at Bassingbourn. It's a pretty route and the ATR is a good start point. Could have used more loos, but not dreadful queues really. Informal approach to starting, no markers for how long you think it will take. Good support from the Marshalls, and lots of kids with Jelly Babies en route. I thought to get a medal and a t-shirt was pretty generous for the price and for a small race - even got my size t-shirt. What made my day was the complete stranger who helped encourage me to pull a little more out the bag to get through the finish line proud. Thank you! About 40 seconds off a PB I think - but it was pretty hot! Date of review: June 10, 2012

In short: Fantastic course. Scenic and PB potential too. Minor organisational hitches but not enough to spoil the day. I'll be back. In full: My favourite course so far. Plenty of room at the start to get past slower starters. Fast and very scenic course. Water stations every 3 miles. Chip timing. Even glorious weather following a wild, wet and windy week.
The atmosphere was really great. Marshalls were friendly and enthusiastic and all runners I met really enjoyed the day.
Minor organisational problems - insufficient toilets at start/finish (reported as a problem by some runners last year as well), problems with organisation at the first water station left some runners standing in a queue to get water and the table for water at the finish was unattended which meant that when I arrived it was empty (it was restocked later) Goodie bag was sparse -advertising material , a mars bar and a t-shirt (they had run out of my size).
As I said a fabulous course and some minor organisational tweaks would make it an absolutely fantastic event. Date of review: June 10, 2012
