In short: Love it for the atmosphere and friendliness
In full: Start in waves through a door next to the canal. Decent tow-paths and marshalling keep you going and regular water stations are laid on. The Tipton fire hose was an interesting extra but the tunnel and canal bridges always keep me interested. Great organisation and flexibility with starts.

In short: well done lads/lasses
In full: me and my running buddies normally travel
around the country doing marathons, so to
be able to get a bus to the start and all
meet up at the end for discounted beer and
p##s take is rare for us.
this is a cracking race to do-showers at the
end and bars everywhere !!
one of my favourite events and a lovely
afternoon by the "cut" having a few beers
with running friends.
organisers-well done,see you next year.
PS the website photo, I am the guy on the
left, waiting for my image rights cheque !!

In short: Canaltastic
In full: Having only ever done big city half marathons this made an interesting change. Liked the staggered start - not so keen on my continued staggering, but this was due to the heat and my lack of training.

Also - do canal bridges really need to be so steep - they is evil little buggers.

The organisation, the goody bag and the marshalls were fantastic.

My performance was shocking - a PW, so I'm guessing I'll be back to try again and to make the most of pub discounts and an excuse to go shopping in Birmingham.

Could you turn the sun down and the clouds up for next year please - race organisers can do that sort of stuff can't they??????

In short: Excellent red hot day - i'll be back to take on the tunnel
In full: A really good time-trial format half marathon which should be good for PB hunters - me, I'm a plodder wh is happy to finish inside of 3 hrs. There are a few tests on the way - The Tunnel is 375yards of steady pace, the bridges look tiny but have a wicked side to them and this years special was a fire hose hurdle. Everyone was in good spirit, including SANTA and loads of helpful Marshalls (thanks guys) and what a finish line, just appears out of nowhere! See you all next year, it's already in my diary.

In short: What a great day!! I WILL BE BACK!
In full: Fantastic organisation, Friendly. Although I was injured I romped in with a PW. But I don't care as I was training for a Marathon. However this was a great little race, very friendly and a great finish. It gave me a warm fuzzy feeling when I finished, the sort I would get from the bigger races such as the GNR. I WILL BE BACK!! to improve on my time and to attend injury free.... Thank you Stuart and Phil for a fun, friendly, well organised race. See you in 2012 x

In short: Another great BBCHM
In full: Ran this for the first time last year, and was suitably impressed with the race. This year was, once again, faultless. The waived start is a smashing idea, and meant that we were competing with those whom are expected to finish in roughly the same time. A red hot morning did slow me down over the second half, but a great finish in Brindley Place and a full english at the pitcher and piano (25% off the bill for all runners with a medal!)soon revived tired legs! A top race, looking forward to 2012
