In short: A well organised event which was both fun and challenging. In full: A very reasonable entry fee in support of a great charity. The course measured 26.2 miles on my Garmin so any concerns over the accuracy of the route should be put to bed! The marshals were excellent and there were plenty of well stocked drink stations throughout the well marked route. Free tea, coffee, squash etc and a free bouncy castle made this a great family event. To top it off my 4 year old daughter lost my medal on the way home! When we contacted the organiser to purchase another one he sent us 2 free of charge (one for me and my little girl). Can’t ask for more than that. See you next year.

In short: Fun and friendly but a proper [Half Marathon] race In full: Marafun is a charity event, a nice 'church social' feel but also a serious race, under rules and over the distance. I think the 'mile' markers went a little awry at times but the distance was right at the end. As everyone says, the marshalls were great. It would be nice to see a few more supporters out and about but I did get some friendly waves. I train around the area but even so, I wasn't prepared for St Paul's Wood Hill!

In full: Third time for me doing this lovely low key, friendly marathon. The weather was pretty hot but excellent water stops and very frequent. Well attended by friendly marshals who were full of encouragement. Struggled a bit this year on those hills which get bigger second time around and under a week since I climbed around 3 Forts marathon, it was always going to be tough. Great encouragement from the half maras as they sped past us at about mile 20....thanks to them. Well organised and great to know your entry fee is going to a worthwhile cause. I just know this will be a yearly event for me. Date of review: May 14, 2012

In short: 3rd time here for marathon and hope to be back next year In full: Local for me which helps, but I do really like the low key and supportive organisation here. They raise funds for a good charity and make all feel part of that. I don't think that the hills are too bad on this course, but road junctions are less pleasant! But at least you know what to expect on second lap and well marshalled as ever though. Distance must be at least accurate now! Also did the family 4k at end with my kids which they love each year Well done once again to Footsteps and hope to be back again next year! Date of review: May 14, 2012

In short: Good low key event In full: The marshalls and organisers were friendly and enthusiastic. Low number of runners so a few areas of lone running. First time I've run this event and the hill at mile 8 was a 'nice' surprise! All in all a very good event and according to my garmin the distance for the half marathon was spot on....albeit the mile marker at mile 7 was out. Date of review: May 13, 2012

In short: very well organised In full: The route was very well marked and marshalled. The route is a bit hilly, the toughest climb is the last 800m just before the finish. I do not know about the length of the course. Was it accurate this year? Date of review: May 13, 2012

In short: A very friendly race, not many spectators and a bit hilly. But well organised and excellent value for money especially as all the money goes straight to a wonderful charity. Would definitely recommend it! Date of review: May 13, 2012
