In short: Not worth the £45 entrance fee!! In full: I'm an average runner who managed to get a place in the VLM last year so I took this on as a build-up to London. All I can say is that it was a decent race, well organised, not too difficult, decent scenery. But 45 quid to go again...not a chance... Date of review: January 26, 2011
In short: Good Race In full: Enjoyed this race. After coming off the Forth Bridge the hills just kept on coming Great views from the bridge even with the mist. Course was tough but the event was worth the trip. Would I do it again yes Date of review: October 7, 2010
In short: Lovely but challenging route! In full: As others have said somethings need improved -signs directing you in and out (other than to car park) of main area, pulse/colour coded start needs to be better controlled, lights on in the toilet block would be nice too. It was a nice run, could've done without Hawes Brae though! Date of review: October 7, 2010
In short: Good distance, nice views over the Forth, definitely more up than down...even though it was a circular course! In full: Really enjoyed this, although hadn't expected all of those hills. Poor signage from the airport bus route and at Ingliston itself, but the starting pens worked well, and the drinks/gel stations were well-manned and plentiful. A good time of year for a race--a shame that it is moving to April next year as there are plenty of other races going on in Edinburgh at that time of year. Date of review: October 7, 2010
In short: Wonderful run over the Forth Road bridge In full: Decided what better than a long weekend in Edinburgh and a try at the Scottish Kilomathon. Never raced further than a half marathon so something new. Well organised event, definitely not flat with a few interesting climbs as everyone has said, even a couple of the locals found it challenging, but it was a good race, very friendly and enjoyable. Goody bag was great and everything seemed to run smoothly. Shame they have moved it to earlier in the year, I liked the October date and would of done it again, will have to see what in clashes with in April next year. Date of review: October 7, 2010
In short: Described on the medal as 'The Perfect Race Distance' Difficult to disagree In full: I really enjoyed this race. It's described as flat but that's certainly not the case. There's a killer hill on the way out of South Queensferry and from then back to the finish it's undulating.
The organisation was spot on as far as I could see and I loved the fact that the Forth One DJ was calling people home as they finished. A great way to finish a great race! Date of review: October 5, 2010
In short: A lovely run across the Forth Road Bridge but some nasty hills!! In full: Really nice to be part of Scotland's first kilomathon. The route was nice but there were quite a few inclines; definitely wasn't a flat course! Poor running surface at start/end round the airport perimeter but nice medal and goody bag. Sorry to hear about the death of a fellow runner- condolences to the family. Date of review: October 4, 2010
