In short: Not a bad run but could do with a few more runners and supporters
In full: I thought that the run was very scenic and had I not been running would have loved to have taken a picture as we crossed over the forth bridge. I felt very good for the first 10 miles/16k but then there was a long incline to get up and my legs starting to go a little the last 10k were challenging and I was very pleased to have finished. This is the longest run I've done to date - I'm already signed up for the one in London to see if I can better my time!

In short: I enjoyed it especially for the scenery/route but they need to sort some stuff out
In full: I really enjoyed this, never done a Kilomathon before so was a bit apprehensive, but this was more than made up for with the lovely route. I'm confused by the person who said it was better in Derby or Nottingham - surely if that's the case they should have entered the English race and not Kilomathon SCOTLAND!!! And I do wish people would stop moaning about T shirts and goody bags - surely neither is a major issue, not why we run. Yes indeed organisation was a bit iffy. Ingliston is not the easiest place to get to/from unless you were going back into Edinburgh on the shuttle buses and many of us were not. Toilets too - not nearly enough at the start - what's more the portaloos I went to had no water! Apart from that, I had a lovely morning, over the Forth bridge and back, raised a good sum for charity and will probably do it again if they can get the organisation sorted out.

In short: Very nice race, better than last year.
In full: Difficult to compare this one to last years as the route was completely different. This run was by far a whole lot better and with a bit of luck will be kept for next year. I found the organisation very good with few complaints. Perhaps a few more toilets at start but being a bloke got fast tracked to the gents only urinals jumping the queue. A bit on the pricy side but if route stays the same then I'll be back. Managed to take 32 minutes of my time so very happy.....

In full: what a shame this race was nothing like last years, no atmosphere at the start, its a good job the entries were low with only 20 toilets with long queues, loads of blokes using the woods, not very nice for the people who live in the area,i did like the route though, and the marshals and supporters were very good, i thought the t shirt and goody bag were very dissapointing and the entry price obviously put loads of people off, the organisers need to put these issues right to keep this race in the calendar

In full: 2nd year doing this and i would say i wish i hadn't bothered, marshalls were excellent and water stops were good although energy drinks were a joke no wonder the amount of runners had dropped from 4000+ finishers last year to just 950 this.
last years route was much better, made it more interesting to say you'd run from nottingham to derby

In short: Good marathon preparation and friendly participants
In full: The race itself ran very smoothly but the buses at the start ran very late with our bus leaving just after 8. Had a big que for the loos and only made the start line with 3mins to spare despite turning into the car park at 0710.
Travel arranegemnts aside the route itself was better than last year and the stadium finish a good touch.
Would i do it again? Maybe, but only as marathon prep not as a stand alone race.

In short: All went like clockwork for me
In full: Apart from the cost which would put me off entering again the event went like clockwork for me. Found the car park easy enough, (and I don't live in the area) was directed in and the bus arrived within 5 mins of me joining the Q at 7.30am.

Bit basic at the start but all very clear where to go and enough people to ask if you couldn't work out that your number colour related to the pen colour code!

There are never enough loos at a start but there were plenty round the course at every water station.

Cheery marshalls, plenty of well manned water stations with small bottles of water and cups of energy drink. Very clear KM markers and good finish area.

In short: Badly organised and expensive
In full: As most of the reviews have said, this was a blooming expensive race and a lot poorer than last year. The start was really badly organised, with the buses very late and no signs to car parking, nor anyone directing to spaces. Once at the start there weren't enough toilets and nothing to tell us (or nobody to show us) to the pens.

Brilliant marshalls on the course- which was very lonely at times on those country lanes. With reduced numbers on last year (I think down to 25%) we spread out a lot and it was a lonely time!

Great finish and commentator calling your number in. I do know someone that did the half kilomathon that had to walk from the drop-off point (back where the buses picked us up) to the stadium for a final lap- WHY? That was a terrible finish to the half.

In short: Great challenge for those who don't want to do full marathon!
In full: Loved the race itself, great challenge for those of us who have no desire to do a full marathon. Went out of town in pretty lanes and villages, though Derby itself not exactly scenic! However, the car parking and bus transfer were disastrous - standing freezing for 45 minutes waiting for busses. No signs to parking. I understand it was better last year so maybe just a one off.
