In short: kirkstall road is sooo dull In full: better atmosphere than in previous years although I guess this is down to Jane T. One question; who on earth thought of the 3 mile slog along Kirkstall Road, that is so boring. Date of review: February 6, 2013

In short: Great effort from the Run for All team In full: As a regular at Leeds i am able to say the Run for All team did a great job compared to Leeds City Council. Top 50 finish, so can't really comment on any bottlenecks but did agree that the 15 minute wait at the start was a little frustrating. Tech T-shirt was Fab. Well done to the residents of Leeds - great support throughout. Date of review: June 4, 2012

In short: Great charity event In full: Really enjoyed my Leeds half experience although the first 6 miles were on an incline it was still enjoyable! I wasn't too keen on the start filtering us to line as it felt like space was limited but overall much better than last year. It was good to see local charities there and I liked that it felt like a charity event not as competitive even though I'm a keen runner I like to fundraiser to. Well done to the Jane tomlinson organising team.
Oh and the tech tshirt was fantastic - value for money entering fee! Date of review: June 4, 2012

In short: Brilliant, loved it! In full: This was one of the best races I've done in a while. The bottle neck only served to stop me bat out of helling it out of the start (my usual sorry trick), there was plenty of water in bottles and the goodie bag was ace. Toilets were fine if you knew what you were doing (Women rejoice! I hardly even queued!)I was back on form for this one and will definitely back next year. Date of review: May 28, 2012

In short: First four miles an absolute swine, hills galore till halfway, then nice and flat Date of review: May 24, 2012

In short: Enjoyable run, organisation could have been better. In full: It was my first half marathon and I really enjoyed the run. The first six miles was a bit hilly (but not too bad) while the remainder was fast and flat. As people have noted the mile markers were poor and the queuing at the start was a fiasco. I ended up near the front at the gun and was pleased I did as the bottleneck behind looked hideous. The relatively clear road meant I ran 1:37 which was far better than I'd hoped for. There were many water stations, which was good, and I was impressed by the goodie bag particularly the good quality t-shirt. A decent race which would be much better with a few small improvements in its organisation. Date of review: May 22, 2012

In short: Of the 3 half marathons I've run so far this was definitely the best In full: The route is nice - not too hilly as some have been saying (although I train in Sheffield so everywhere else is fat in comparison!) and anyway the hills are all over by about mile 7 or 8. I agree with some others - the mile markers are very small - I missed 12, but I'm from Leeds so I knew roughly where I was. Overall I'd say it's good for a PB - I got mine at 2:04 and I experienced no bottlenecks although I did start towards the back of the field and worked my way up. I would recommend running on home soil for anyone - I had 5 sets of supporters dotted around the route and it lifted my spirits so much! Oh and a word of warning - the Asda sports drinks that the "For all" events team use in all their races are awful - so sugary and strong. I'd steer clear if you're not used to them! In short: Great atmosphere and great local support In full: the hills did take it out of me a bit but as a back of the pack runner really really enjoyed the chat with other runners and great banter with local supports - al made even better with family sat supporting at 11miles (teas and bacon butties in hand!) In short: Enjoyed it but never again! In full: Having got to the start line when it was first announced (not an elite runner!) I missed any form of bottleneck. I do think the amount of time we had to wait at the start in the cold was too long.
As a beginner from a relatively flat city, I did find the course tough and the hills took a lot more out of me than I thought. It was still a good challenge (sub 1hour 50) but I think once is enough for me!
Good support around the track and great goody bag at the end.

In short: good organisation, just a bit hilly In full: A tough race for my first half. Good support, nice goody bag. Only downside is closing both lanes instead of one, as can get crowded. Date of review: May 15, 2012
