In short: Excellent race.
In full: One of the most most scenic races I have done, ranks along side Coniston 14 and Lake Vrnwy Half. Very well organised. Quick course, a definite PB potentiial. Will do it again, recommend it to anyone.

In short: Gentle uphill start is a good warmup. Cruel downhill finish is hard on the toes
In full: A fab race, definitely one to do again. Gentle uphill keeps your pace steady, but not steep enough to slow you down. Long flat stretch in the middle gives you a chance to stretch out. Cruel descents if your toes are sore by then.
Friendly marshalls and supporters, plenty of water stations, and supprters can cycle alongside/just in front with no fear of road traffic

In short: Treat with respect and your fly at the finish
In full: I ran negative splits as I was told it was uphill for 9 miles so from halfway I enjoyed the scenary stepped up the pace and ran my fastest marathon this year.

In short: Friendly, scenic and a bit challenging
In full: Long uphill in the first half of the marathon is not as bad as it sounds, as it's very gentle, but it does take it out of you - next time I'll save some leg power for the one-in-eight downhills which were surprisingly painful after 20-odd miles. Fantastic organization, very friendly - and great cakes and bacon sarnies

In short: Brilliant race with fantastic scenery
In full: This marathon does contain a fair bit of climbing but over gentle gradients which are manageable - if a little draining. The tough course is easily compensated by the incredible views enjoyed for the whole race through the Derbyshire Dales. The finish is an incredible decent down into Cromford. Really enjoyable race with excellent marshalling - I hope to have another go at this one.
