In short: A first rate race for all types of runners
In full: This first running of "the bolt" was definatly a race organised by runners for runners and they certainly had got it right. An interesting, moderately challenging course, well signed and with friendly, encouraging marshals made for an enjoyable race, the beer and hot dog at the end were a absolute bonus even the weather did not appear to dampen too many spirits. The only minor gripe was that there was only one category prize for vets [who appeared to be in the majority at this race] hopefully this will be looked at for next year as I definatly will be back. Assuming of course that I get in, as this race fills up very quickly!

In short: Excellent event really well organised with a nice atmosphere
In full: This was a smashing new event, and the Friday evening date was genius ! Parts of the course were just a little too muddy for this road runner, but given the recent monsoon weather, this was just bad luck. Well done to the organisers - keep it small and friendly, and everyone will be back next year.

In short: Fantastic fun
In full: What a great race, so different from the normal 10km road races, great scenery, great course, well marshalled and great encouragement all the way round from them and the mud and water just added to the fun for me, only word of caution is due to the narrowness of some parts of the track I hope they dont 'grow' too much as more people could create a problem. Apart from that loved every minute of it and loved the bolt as the momento, see you next year!

In short: A great route - just demanding enough to make it interesting, Well organised and friendly.
In full: This was everything a local race should be. Well organised, friendly, great support from the attractive marshals and the kids in the field and a BBQ to refuel. Congatulations to the team for a great first race, and see you next year!

ps. a bolt is so much more useful than a medal!

In short: Really good event. I thought it was very well organised and friendly. Quite a challange due to the muddy conditions, but that made it more fun.

In short: Congratulations to all at Blakedown for a fantastic first time race
In full: A fantastic race if not a little muddy in places- to be expected considering the weather this week!
I think that I speak for all the ladies from Halesowen running club when I say that it was a fantastic race and I will be signing up for it next year.
I would like to thank the organisers, marshalls (who offered support all the way round)and the villagers- especially the children who cheered when we re-entered the sportsground.
Congratulations Blakedown, you're well and truely on the map.
