In short: 2nd year - will return
In full: Good organisation-marshalls friendly and helpful, maybe because I was at the back of the pack. Have run this route many times before. Results, refreshments, etc. first class - small numbers but friendly. Good training for 5 miles.

In short: Very well organised by Fiona; pity about the some other race officials
In full: First of all well done Fiona. I didn't know you before the race and we haven't spoken to each other either, but as soon as I entered the pavillion where all the runners got ready, I noticed a very energetic lady and I heard them calling you Fiona. So I thought it was you. I love to see people so passionate about something and this spark certainly gave me a positive kick before the race.

It is only a pity that the marshalls, though friendly, always only cheered on their own team mates from ESM. I would have found it encouraging if some of them would have also cheered for other people. Maybe they did, but I didn't notice.

As for the results: It was my second race ever and I didn't know how fast we could have the official results. So I went to the gentleman at the entrance of the pavillion and asked if he could tell me my official time. Still a bit tired by the effort I didn't get my number right and so he couldn't find me. While I was still standing there, he said to a lady rater bruskly "Make sure that these people don't come and speak to me all the time." Well, I acknowledge that he was busy typing in the results, but that is no reason to be so unfriendly. The next time he maybe should go and sit in the office, somewhere were people don't talk to him.

In short: Very enjoyable. This was my 1st ever 5 mile race.
In full: I was one of the last to finish. I found it a little confusing as to where I needed to turn to find the 3 mile marker. But other than that, I enjoyed the experience.

In short: "Special" as in "to the point". Anonymous, matter-of-fact, modest organistaion, sleepy marshals. You turns up and you runs. Where it is extreme is in the vileness of the home team's vest!

In short: Very well organised race with the potential of a good result
In full: I enjoyed this race. It was well organised, the Marshalls were encouraging, and we were treated to a pretty useful goody bag at the end. My only negative comment is related to the course - the scenery was somewhat lacking, especially the stretch that ran alongside the A40! I would do this again next year, for the both the good organisation and to better my time!

In short: Great race, good crowd, well organised, lovely weather too!
In full: First time doing this race, which is criminal considering how close to home it is. Really enjoyed the whole event, and the brand new facilities were impressive (even better once the showers have been commissioned). Generous mixed goody bag at the finish, to which my wife helped herself.
My two sons also took part in the U15s 2k fun run, and loved it. Especially like to thank the lovely lady who ran round with my 5-year old, who was a bit shell-shocked by the whole thing and needed a wee just after the start...
Finally, a big THANKS to Fiona K, the organisers and all the marshalls for the whole thing. Cheers!
