In short: Friendly, flat and fast. Ideal for first attempt at half marathon distance.
In full: Organisation more laid-back than I'm used to (what time did the race start?) but actually very well done -plenty of water, marshalls with lists of names etc.I'd be interested to know why comments on the distance seem to vary but I'm pleased and slightly suprised with my time.

In short: Great Fun, enjoyed the race.Could be even better with a few tweaks
In full: The marshalls were the best ever, all of them had a list of runners, and used it to cheer on all the participants by name. The guys at the water atation half way riound were excellent as well, and it was nice to see some pretty faces at the other water stop (calm down Bob!). The organisers were really friendly as well chatting with us all before & after the race,

Room for improvement
1 Accurate measuring would be good so that we know that it is a half marathon
2 Send out the numbers beforehand so that we don't have to queue to register on the day.
3 More people on the certificates at the end to cut that queue as well.

In short: PB, marshalls fantastic, everything great except course slightly too short
In full: Marshalling was great, everyone so friendly. I particularly liked being encouraged by name, and that at the water stop I used on each lap the marshall would run alongside so runners did not have to slow down. Only slight downside was that it was only 12.9 miles, could just have moved the finish line back a bit to add the 0.2. But it was a PB, well under what I wanted and easy to work out what the time would have been for HM so I'm not complaining too much!

In short: Great friendly race.
In full: As usual the atmosphere was great and the marshalls their terrific selves. I am glad the decision seems to have been taken to keep the first stretch after the grass on the main path rather than turning on to the track beside the river as it makes it easier and faster, as well as removing potential bottlenecks. I preferred it being on a Saturday and there did seem to be more popular last year, but will do it again whatever the day!!

In short: Fast and friendly flat race around Hackney Marshes
In full: Travelled from Wimbledon for this based on last years ratings and wasn't disappointed. Great atmosphere because of the plentiful friendly marshalls. Bit of a queue to register and at end to collect certificate and goody bag but one of the organisers went down chatting to everyone. Massage available and toilets and changing rooms. Medal presented at end which was a nice touch. Marshalls with start lists to encourage you by name. 6 flat laps which consisted of grass, path, track, sun and shade with 2 water stations. All flat so fast. The lead runners lapped me but I managed to lap some of the slowest. Bit of a funny distance but got PB and measured as 13.57 on Garmin so the 13.5 probably accurate although medal indicates 12.5km which converts to 13.36 miles.

Will be back for this one.
