In short: Average course, good 'goody bag' but expensive to enter In full: A decent first running of the Lymm 10k but expensive to enter and I found the start and finish running around the school playing fields a bit boring. In addition having two laps of the same route was also less than ideal in my opinion. As I live in Lymm I probably wouldn't bother entering again as I run this route regularly for free. Having said that overall I enjoyed the day and thought the organisation was good as was the goody bag. However I would rather have a better race than a better goody bag! In short: Welcome to Lymm's first 10k. In full: Effectively two laps - down the hill and then back up. Some nice scenery along the way and the goody bags were good! Date of review: April 26, 2012

In short: Great scenery, well organised In full: The route was beautiful, it was a nice sunny but cool day perfect running weather which helps. It was challenging around the field and the track by the side of the canal, but because it loops twice its easier the 2nd time as you know whats coming. The race markers at the start were a bit confusing a couple of people didn't know what bay they should have been in. I also thought the start could have been sign posted a bit better i walked around the field a couple of times wondering where it was. I got there early so parking wasn't a problem but the race was delayed as people had problems with traffic and parking (although i'm pretty sure i started right on time) i heard from other people the lack of toilets was a problem but as i was there early i didn't have this problem. The glass lasered paperweight award was very impressive and the goodies with the starbucks snacks was amazing, i needed the sugar when i finished! Date of review: April 20, 2012

In short: Fantasic race environment,, course was challenging yet enjoyable and their was a positive buzz throughout. In full: This was my first race of the 2012 season and delighted to have made such a positve start. ~My time was a PB, weather fantastic and the goody bag surprised me with the quality. Looking forward to further events in Lymm, could we see a half marathon in such a beautiful location? Date of review: April 19, 2012

In short: A Glorious Day Out In full: I wasn't expecting much for my £20, given that this was the inaugural event, but what a shock! Registration, marshalling, drinks provisions and the brilliant atmosphere at the start and finish made for a great day. Admittedly the port-a-loos didn't turn up, but I suspect everyone who needed to found a toilet. The goody bag was brilliant - and well earned after two times round 'the hill'. In short: Race goes across varied terrain and through countryside-incline is challenging at 4k and 7k. A good run for all. In full: For an inaugural run this was well organised although the number of toilets in the sports centre was not enough and women were still queuing 10 minutes before the start. The race is a mix of road, country lanes/ paths and start/finish lap of playing fields. Some areas are a challenge. It was a lovely sunny day in Lymm. The goody bags were excellent - love the paperweight. Date of review: April 17, 2012

In short: Really good inaugural race, well done Lymm! In full: A picturesque, well signposted route (we were lucky with the weather too – a perfect day to be out running!), good freebies & refreshments, friendly marshals and supporters – what else would you want? Well done for having a water station already on 2k, that was unexpected – and a very nice gesture!
The only thing that needs improving is the provision of toilets. I realise that there isn’t such a thing as “enough toilets” but this one was well below standard - when I joined the queue 40 min before scheduled start time, there were over 40 ladies waiting for two cabins!!,
Also, why not post numbers with joining instructions next year? Saves having to pick them up on the day.
Don't hope for a PB though, too many inclines, plus large parts of the course were oof road. Date of review: April 16, 2012

In short: Just brilliant! We'll be back! In full: A brilliant race! Excellent venue, really well organised and marshalled, nice challenging course for a novice and a brilliant goodie bag at the end!
It was exactly as advertised, 2 laps of both "sections" of both grass (not my favourite) and road/pavement. Friendly spectators, encouraging marshalls, well placed water and jelly baby stops even if the hill wasn't any easier the second time round!
Brilliant idea of having the chip as part of the race number along with personalised race numbers - so lovely to have your name yelled in encouragement when flagging!
Cannot believe how much fun I had, cannot wait for next year! This was my first 10k and has given me such a boost in confidence and smiles. Well done Lymm and the Race Director - you did an amazing job! Date of review: April 15, 2012
