In short: Challenging Course but Great Event In full: The organisation stands out on this event, the facilities and car parking are great, the whole set up was slick and organised. The route was really nice too, albeit challenging, it is still suitable for beginners. There were plenty of hills to keep you honest. What surprised me was the support from the crowd, it was a dull and rainy day but there were still hundreds of people cheering us on throughout the villages we ran through. There was special touch at the end with Dame Kelly Holmes giving out the medals. I would join this event again. Date of review: September 5, 2013
In short: Beautifull country lanes, lovely! In full: having these beautiful country lanes closed for your own use is unlike any training. i don't usually train on country roads as i don't feel safe so this race felt very special. don't be put of by the hills, they are very short and nearly always immediately followed by a short down hill Date of review: March 12, 2013
In short: Fantastic race, best i've done! In full: Thoroughly enjoyed this race! Brilliant atmosphere, amazing support, extremely well organised, well marshalled. Lovely route. Definetly do it again i absolutely loved it!!! Highly recommend!!! Date of review: October 6, 2012
In short: the best organised start I've seen, runners able to spread out quickly. In full: A delightfully challenging route with 2 wonderful receptions in Leigh. Very well organised. A higher standard with the increased capacity giving us total amateurs something to aim for. Thoroughly enjoyed myself! Date of review: October 1, 2012
In short: A first timer who's got the bug! In full: As a local resident of Tonbridge, I love to run along the many back lanes surrounding it so to have an event on my doorstep was a real buzz.
Found the entire event very well organised and marshaled. Many spectators braved the rain to cheer everybody on, which was a real lift. All facilities were top notch also (except the pre-run speeches as the PA was non existent and many of us didn't hear a thing).
Will definitely be doing it again next year but hopefully without carrying a slight injury this time :) Date of review: September 29, 2012
In short: Loved it In full: Incredibly friendly locals who didn't seem to mind standing in the torrential rain cheering, clapping and handing out biscuits. Coming into the village of Leigh was fantastic - felt like a carnival.
Really well organised and lovely scenery (from what I could make out through the drizzle). Fairly hilly but still managed a pb.
A nice touch of Olympian glamour with Kelly Holmes handing out the medals. Date of review: September 28, 2012
In short: Great race! In full: This was a great race. My 2nd time and got a pb!Great amount of toilets at the start and 1 at miles 3,6 and 9. Could maybe have done with 2 at each but I didnt need to go which was good!
Is very hilly but the hills are short and manageable, and always follow with a downhill!
The people of Leigh were amazing! It was absolutely pouring down but there were so many people out who were cheering and clapping like they were your family supporting you. They really helped. The volunteers/marshalls were great too. All really friendly and also clapping and shouting well done etc.
Love this race and will be back again next year. My garmin did measure it to be 13.22 though. Date of review: September 27, 2012
