In short: Excellent Autumn Marathon
In full: Apart from the fact I tried a new training tactic which didn't work, resulting in a PW (personal worst), this was an excellent day out. I really enjoyed the experience, great stadium start and finish (tell you what, that nice soft track is a treat after 26 road/pavement miles) and plenty of spectators on the course, given that it is a relatively small marathon. The Fetch Everyone people were inspiring (can I say that on RW?). I would do this one again, despite the pavement sections. My training error was to do most of my long runs from home which is very very hilly. The billiard tsable flat course at Abingdon left me wishing for a hill at 20 miles to get some other muscles going! My fault entirely, just thought I'd mention it. Nice job, Abingdon, see you next year.....

In short: flat and fast
In full: Not a big fan of the repetitive looping course. That said, an enjoyable day that was well organised and well marshaled.

In short: Virginity broken on a great course
In full: My first marathon made special by a well run and executed race. Facilitities were very good and starting and finishing on the running track was really uplifting, especially with the spectators cheering you on. Marshalling was good, although some of them came across as a little miserable. The course itself was perfect for the beginner, nice and flat and little traffic, and ideal for PB chasers - my time sub 3h10m, well chuffed.
